Yeah total cheeseball is a good description! Still I had more fun watching this than the Bourne Legacy
It's better going (if you go) without knowing the full extend of the cast and you're in for few chuckles!

Do you need to have seen the first one to follow it? I honestly can't remember any of it, and I'm still convinced to this day that my brain cells had begun committing harakiri while it was going on.

Not at all. I couldn't recall any of the first either but still managed to have a lot of fun with the second.

I'm with Celini, I preferred this to TBL too.

I am normally very easy going with my ratings but I can't believe all the positive comments in here as I thought this was rather shit...

Have not seen the first one so cannot compare, but I thought this was really poorly acted (Bruce Willis, you disappoint me) with exaggerated effects and filled with cheesy one liners that were fun the first 4 or 5 times but were milked waaaaaay too much and just became annoying
(I mean how many times can they call Chuck Norris the "Lone wolf" and put the Walker Texas Ranger music on when he appears? Or how many Terminator/"I'll be back" jokes does Schwarzenegger really need? Even Willis' character commented on the frequency...).

I did really like the gag where one of the characters mentioned how old they were (I don't remember who, it might've been something that was just in my head, oops). But Bruce Willis was very much underused, Van Damme looked like plastic, the others way past their due date and the fact that people exploded when getting shot at once and the amount of blood that was used for that looked far too fake.
5/10 for the few chuckles when the jokes weren't overused yet.

Cheesy fun with bad jokes and lots of violence. I actually thought this was better than the first Expendables film. 5/10.

I'm quite impressed that they can get away with doing this for a big budget movie. Twenty years ago, this script, acting ability and plot would amount to a Jean Claude Van Damme straight to video release, but these days its a major summer blockbuster. I wonder if Hudson Hawk would be one of the biggest hits of the summer if released these days?

Terrible movie, fun for the stunts alone, which is actually a fair bit of fun by the end of the movie. But why have audiences sunk so low in their expectations?
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Garbage, and yet a million times better than the original.
At least the fight scenes were impressive (but nothing on The Raid, my future benchmark for action movies)
