Saw this yesterday with my free vouchers. Was looking forward to another Indian epic after seeing the Life of Pi, and the trailer looks good. Such a sad story, I felt quite exhausted by it.
A powerful and sad story, how lives can be changed by one action, but lacks the magic or energy that I was expecting, the film was also long so I did feel a bit bored towards the end. Also some parts are quite brutal (
a boy gets punched by his father when he tells him he can hear voices in his head, and then in another scene, he is humiliated by his teacher and a big chunk of hair is pulled out of his scalp.
)
7/10
Screen 4 of the Picturehouse Stratford East must be the most uncomfortable Picturehouse I have ever been in. The seats are very upright and there is no leg room. There were only half a dozen people at the screening, so we had plenty of room to stretch our legs across the front of the seats next to our seats, but it is really tiring to sit like that for almost two and a half hours! Price of tickets were cheaper though at £5 a ticket.
