Jim Carrey and Steve Carell doing what they do best: comedy. Hilarious
8/10
(If you don't believe Jim Carrey is the master of comedy, watch his last SNL hosting. Pure joy)

Re: The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
Saw this tonight too.
Thought it was great and funny but boy did I need to look away when
jim Carey did his scenes
.
There were deliberate references to David Blaine which I thought was cool.

Re: The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
Warner Bros have a really swish screening room and the audience was full of FMUKers so it almost felt like a private screening. Thanks to cinefila1 for being almost worse than OH in finding a place! The security guys found it amusing that I checked my phone out again to call her.
The film was incredibly funny. I laughed so hard. I am a fan of Steve Carell and this was a great performance. Jim Carrey was fantastic too for keeping his rubber-face in check. And kudos to the casting director for finding a kid that looked like he could have been a young Steve Buscemi. It was like Siegfried and Roy doing a David Blaine act. Plus Alan Arkin as the old magician - LOL. And that "make the audience disappear" act was insane.
But why did they say they wanted Olivia Wilde as their opening act and we never saw it? Not fair.
Thanks to ejwrank for getting me that orange juice!

Many thanks to Beate for her incredible patience tonight. I'm glad I finally got there in the nick of time. This is actually quite a funny movie that keeps growing on you as you watch it. Steve Carell carried the movie well and Jim Carrey's numbers made me cringe.
Warner House is now my favourite small screening room! Really comfortable seats, perfect rake and a decent size screen.

Re: The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
I agree with everyone, about the screening room, the film and the good company! I had a lovely time tonight.
I loved the young Burt and Anton, they were so cute! Hilarious, fun, and totally silly, and I did cover my eyes with Jim Carey's scenes. Oh my!

Re: The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
This was my second viewing of the film and when I saw it at the end of 2012, I loved it, and actually had tears of laughter coming out of my eyes. The post credits sequence is brilliant and the highlight of the film.
I still liked it the second time but I didn't find it as funny. I would have given it 9/10 initially but now rate it 8/10.

I hope I didn't miss anything - was that the one where they showed how they made the audience disappear? That was indeed hilarious.funthing29 wrote:The post credits sequence is brilliant and the highlight of the film.

Re: The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
Lovely comfortable screening room and it was great to catch up with my fellow fmukers that I haven't seen for quite a while.
I enjoyed, the film but , despite the free wine , not quite as much as I thought I would.
I think it was a mistake to watch the trailer as all the best bits are in that. I usually avoid trailers like the plague but there were no reviews online at all.
Having said that I would still give it at least 8/10
