The Smurfs 2

#1 Post by funthing29 » Sun Jul 28, 2013 6:13 pm

The age-old saying of 'if you don't have anything nice to say then say nothing at all' very much applies here. So I shall keep mute. 1 point for Neil Pattick Harris and 1 point for the half decent 3D. 2/10.

I thought this was going to be utter rubbish, but it was only a little bit! Caught myself laughing on quite a few occasions and the storyline and 3D were both half decent. The endless puns and smurfinising of names did get tiring but overall it wasn't a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Besides, I LOVE Neil Patrick Harris so I'd sit through pretty much anything for him anyway.

+ there were yummy macaroons, a green screen, big bags of Haribo smurfs and mini smurf figures; my inner kid was very happy indeed.

6/10

The fun (usual green screen, animal balloons etc) and tea party was mayhem, as the area for the event is very small. So there were two screenings. We were in the later one with the white tickets. The earlier screening at 3.15pm had blue tickets. Most of the food was blue, blue marshmallows, blue jelly, blue macroons, all very delicious and sugary sweet, very much like the film! Although the drinks were normal colours.

I have not seen the first Smurfs film so did not realise it is animation mixed with human action. It is very predictable and very, very sugary sweet and cutesy. Doogie Howser is all grown up with a child of his own, and Jayma Mays from Glee is his wife.

And the moral running through it is : It doesn't matter where you came from. What matters is who you choose to be.

I liked it and the story. I just went along with the ride, and it was much better than I expected, 3D good too, and I did smile quite a bit. Paris looks good! 7/10

Got to see this today thanks to the lovely canadian_turtle

Wasn't expecting much. But quite enjoyed it.
Loved the cat. He stole the show for me.
My nephew got a fright at beginning of the fun with the characters. And didn't want to do anything (until we left when he wanted then to go for the goodies. Grr).
Love the macaroons. :D and got a cool smurf balloon model

Good predictable fun kids film. ,much better than first film
Very cheesy daft jokes. But it kids film so expected.
6/10 from me

Went to see this yesterday and despite being aware that this film obviously wasn't targeted at someone like me it still seemed pretty bland, cheap, simplistic and intellectually just a little bit insulting.

Not the worst film I've seen this year (I really don't think anything will manage to beat 'The Eye Of The Storm' in that regard) it wasn't that far away so I can only muster a 3/10 for this movie...

Saw this on Sunday in 2d, and really enjoyed it for what it was. I thought it was cute and while obviously geared towards kids, I can tell that 7-year-old me would have absolutely loved it! Bonus points for NPH. Always.
