Up
From Disney Pixar comes 'Up,' a comedy adventure about 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America. But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip: an overly optimistic 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. From the Academy Award-nominated director Pete Docter ('Monsters, Inc.'), Disney Pixar's 'Up' invites you on a hilarious journey into a lost world, with the least likely duo on Earth. 'Up' will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D in select theaters.

Re: Up
When we got there at about 5 to 6, there was an almighty queue already snaking through the foyer. While trying to find the end of it, we happened to pass the stairs to the upper screens just at the moment they called out that screen 1 was ready now. So we took our chance, grabbed the 3D glasses and ran after hottips who happened to be the first one in. Sorry, but you would have done the same! We were joined by 5rannoch a little later in our 3 man booth and saw phunkygal and tufty going high up to the last row, while MariaLionza took the other direction.
We got a short speech from the editor of Total Film mag, welcoming us to this Red Carpet Preview, then we were treated to three trailers in 3D – Toy Story 3, Ice Age 3 and G-Force – all of which I wouldn’t mind seeing! There was also a survey sheet lying on each seat possibly winning you a year’s Cineworld pass for filling it in.
This film is an utter delight. We absolutely loved it. Pixar at its best. I laughed and I cried. It’s the perfect mixture of humour tinged with some sadness – some very moving scenes gave the characters depth and made it more than just another funny animated movie. When the millions of coloured helium ballons pulled the house up into the sky, I nearly cheered, it was the most beautiful sight. The film wasn’t short of original ideas - the pensioner fight was fab, as were the speaking dogs. The 3D effect also wasn’t as overused as it was in Coraline and I had no trouble with my eyes this time. Finally a film about badges, and I forgot to put mine on! Anyone else think that Carl looked like Walter Matthau?
“Thanks for the adventure. Now go and have another one”. I am getting all choked up again!
9.5/10 Go see it.

Re: Up
Travelled down to London from Birmingham to see this.
Got there about 20 past 6 as we got waylaid by the Bruno premiere
at Leicester Square!
The film itself is one of Pixars best totally engaging & at
moments heart wrenching & it's not easy to wipe a crafty tear away when
your wearing 3D glasses. 10/10
I'd just to say to Total Film that I felt a bit cheated.
They'd bigged this up saying how Guiellmo Del Toro was at the last
Red Carpet Premier so I was expecting summat big & felt a bit peeved
when the mag editor did a 2 minute speech. Not very Red Carpet if you ask me!

Re: Up
yeah the intro was a bit diappaspointing as theyd promised a one hour introduction and all we got was a short crap speech and 3 trailers that had already been released but i was relieved a bit as didnt really want to sit for a while hour and then the film itself. also the editor said it was the first uk showing and it wasnt as the times screening was a while before!

Re: Up
Lol I'm just glad I got to watch it before anyone else especially since the release is months away. There was a point where I was pondering on whether to go or not as the friends I took didn't seem to positive about it. And how they changed their mind after the film! I loved saying "I told you so!" And "Are you just so lucky I took you along?!!!"
The friend who missed out on coming thought he'd take his little brother to go see this in the Summer whilst I reminded so politely how it doesn't come out until October and the opportunity he missed out on. LOL.
It really was a good screening. I'm glad there was no one to talk about it, I wasn't even p*ying attention to what he was saying just when the movie would start. In fact I didn't even realise until phunkygal said that there would be a one hour introduction!!!! I think I might even p*y to go see it again when it's released!
BTW, what other red carpet showings have they done?
