Re: FMUKCON - 2020 - Glasgow - 28 March
It wasn't a quick process, but I received all my refunds a while ago (Travelodge, Caledonian Sleeper, Avanti West Coast and Chiltern Railway). I think mine were all e-tickets though, so that might have helped. I finally got my holidays cancelled and refunded too (Hotels.com, more of the same train o...

Re: Coronavirus
Well, that was inevitable. You just had to look at the pictures of idiots gathering in large groups over the weekend to know "and this is why we can't have nice things." A lockdown is awful, but it's also necessary. If we can't police ourselves... in come the actual police. This is our own fault as ...

Re: FMUKCON - 2020 - Glasgow - 28 March
Finally... common sense prevails! Good to see refunds all round - it sent the wrong message not letting people cancel non-essential travel. Now it's just the accommodation to get sorted... I think I might just take the credit with Travelodge rather than go through insurance.

Re: Coronavirus
Sorry to hear you're not well, chelle1973, whatever it is. Fingers crossed it's just a normal bug and not coronavirus. I am also self-isolating after possible exposure to someone with the symptoms - it's very very unlikely that he has COVID-19 and even more unlikely he's passed it to me, but it's so...

Re: FMUKCON - 2020 - Glasgow - 28 March
I haven't looked into the details, but my bank emailed me today to remind me I have travel insurance bundled with my account - I might be able to get a refund after all. This isn't the only trip I have planned.
Of course, if there's an excess, it might not be worth it.

Re: Coronavirus
Oh, biggins. Really sorry to hear that. Like ejwrank says, I'm sure you'll find your own way of celebrating her life and mourning. When my uncle died last year and there was a direct cremation, I took the day off and spent it reflecting on our relationship, his life and having a good ole' sob. Setti...

Re: FMUKCON - 2020 - Glasgow - 28 March
I think I can rebook my trip (but I can't cancel any of it). Currently the Caledonian Sleeper are offering rebookings from 1 May 2020 to 31 December 2020. May seems wildly optimistic, and I've heard August bandied about as a month when things will still be bad. I know it will be probably be cold, bu...

Re: FMUKCON - 2020 - Glasgow - 28 March
Well, I've already booked my travel and accommodation for Glasgow and it's all non-refundable, so there's no point in me cancelling anything at this stage. Caledonian Sleeper are not allowing any changes/refunds - but I do wonder if the SNP will have leant on them by the end of March. LNE...
