Surprised, I found it dragged, was particularly slow and even boring at times. I thought Efron was well cast though.

Re: Eighth Grade
Also saw this last year, and was my favourite film of 2018. Almost unbelievable it didn't get any nominations at the major award ceremonies, especially for best original screenplay. It's such a unique and raw snapshot of high school/secondary school life and that period of change from being solely d...

Re: MI Fallout
Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to watch this whole movie without leaving to go see mamma mia next door ..oi come back 1 star, perhaps 2 if you are a fan of the series, but this is way too far removed from the excellent original movie. Completely agree! The original was fantastic, b...

WANTED: 2 x Mission:Impossible Fallout, Birmingham, 13/7
Didn't have any luck with the ballot, but if anyone doesn't want theirs or has a couple spare, I'm after two tickets for Mission Impossible: Fallout at Birmingham Broad Street this Friday (13th). Would be VERY much appreciated, been looking forward to this for a while.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Hereditary
Had been looking forward to this for months after hearing the hype at Sundance. Usually we get one horror film per year that gets a ton of hype and is labelled "the scariest film in decades" or "this generation's 'The Exorcist'", but never really lives up to the praise. For me, Hereditary was mostly...

Re: SW : The Last Jedi
Hated it. Loved The Force Awakens and Rogue One, but there was so much wrong with this. Rian Johnson has ruined what made The Force Awakens great. Storylines ended abruptly, inconsistent visuals and the humour was way overboard. Not enough drama. Any anticipation I had for Episode IX has now gone, a...

Re: Blade Runner 2049
Seen this twice now, one free and one pa*d. This film has a lot going for it. The story is a bit messy, and there are plenty of unanswered questions and loose ends, but the main draw of this film is the atmosphere, cinematography, soundtrack and sound design. One of the most immersive films I've see...

Less mainstream free films recently?
Anyone else noticed recently there seem to be less and less mainstream free screenings? 90% of whats been offered this year has been genre or indie films, far less of the blockbusters and more popular/mainstream type films. Mainly talking about the SFF screenings, rather than the pa*d subscription o...
