Re: The Evil Dead 2013
Saw it at Union Square tonight and cinema was probably only 2/3 full. I absolutely loved it. Easily the best horror remake since Dawn Of The Dead in 2004. Some great nods to the original series but it took its version on its own different path which I liked. Refreshing to see a proper full on 18 ...

Re: I Give It a Year
I Give It A Year? I wouldn't give it the 97 minutes of your time it would take to watch it.
If you married this film you could have it annulled on the grounds you believed you were marrying a romantic comedy.
Oh dear oh dear Working Title, Four Weddings or Notting Hill this is not.

Re: Help: What's the best horror film?
Definitely agree with Audition also recommend Ringu, The Shining, The Orphanage.
The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is also rather scary but perhaps first time watchers may find it tame by today's standards.
Scariest film this year was probably Sinister or Woman In Black.

Re: Prometheus
Was nice to see Michael Fassbender get a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Prometheus from the London Critics Circle.
The movie may have split opinions but I though Fassbender was terrific in the film. Also a nice surprise to see a nomination for a science fiction film.

Re: Pitch Perfect
Caught the preview on Tuesday. The film was pretty generic (and yes, most of the best jokes were in the trailer) but much more enjoyable than Glee. At least nobody spontaneously burst into a perfectly choreographed musical number outside the competitions! Kendrick continues to impress, as does ...
