While it’s fun seeing Plaza fly into rages, her mood violently swinging as she decomposes, oddly for a film where a zombie spends the majority of the film seeming far too alive and well, Life After Beth is sadly lifeless.

Re: The Rover
The distorted, dirty score from Anthony Partos perfectly complements the gritty visuals and moral mystery of Pearce's anti-hero. Even with some lulls in the mid-section, The Rover opens and closes so strongly that it is a ride well worth taking. http://ilovethatfilm.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/the-rover ...

Re: Secret Sharer
Boring and melodramatic. A good story in there somewhere but too much time spent on a soppy, poorly scripted romance. Annoying music too.

Re: 20 Feet From Stardom
Loved every second of the music. It felt a little long even at only 90 mins but had some interesting stories.

Re: Dallas Buyers Club
Dallas Buyers Club is a very effective emotional story. See it for two staggering transformations and a touching true tale that desrves to be told. While Woodroof is the flawed star of the film, Leto's equally damaged Rayon threatens to steal it away from him. It may not tell the full story ...

Re: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
While Stiller does a fantastic job of bringing the story to screen, it is the script that is lacking. The direction gives life to the ludicrous events (both real and imagined) but the dialogue and characters fail to produce much in the way of emotion. It looks great and has a decent soundtrack but ...

Re: American Hustle
Overall it's a clever con, funny at times and crammed with wonderful performances. It might not have the zip and the pizazz of a Goodfellas or a Boogie Nights, but what it does have is Batman, Lois Lane, Rocket Racoon, Mystique and Hawkeye all in one film and all playing characters that are far more ...

Re: The Railway Man
Much better than I expected. Riveting drama and a gripping true life war story. Highly recommended.
