Horrible Histories - The Romans

Adequately rambunctious silliness for the kids.

Barely in any way related to actual history.... but its fun.

Re: Lion King (2019)

Thought it was quite poor, CGI and voice acting felt incongruent, and the art cuteness of Simba doesnt translate in live action. What you see are lions, and your brain tells you they are killers not cuties. Anyway. 2 stars

Re: The Current War

I wasn't expecting sparks to fly, I was hoping that there would be ample in the story to keep me interested. Watt kept me interested was the historical aspects of the film, nothing much else. None of the dialogue was shocking and there was one slightly powerful speech by Edison. Basically it was wh...

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home

I'm not sure why or how anything was happening in this movie but it was poppy enough, and better after the obvious twist (although still made no sense as to how/why anything happened, fast and loose exposition is the game plan here).

3 stars.

Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot

Chernobyl, freakishly good tv, you'll be temped to read around it too. If you do read up on it, I would suggest skirting its effects on Belarus which are way more distressing than the events in Chernobyl, and were never addressed by Russia at all (Russia in fact intentionally aggravated the Belarus ...

Re: XMen - Dark Phoenix

It's the last of the franchise, so there's nothing to kill. thank you for that, I think I was counting wrong as the trilogy to me was Future Past/First Class/Apocalypse, but I see thats wrong now. This felt stand-alone to me, and perhaps I prefer it that way. I did try watching it again to the end ...

Re: XMen - Dark Phoenix

bloomin awful movie. Makes Apocalypse look good! Potential franchise killer. All the biggies after Endgame are a stale bunch so far.

1 star for the SFX alone.

Re: Late Night

Molly might have been more interesting with an Indian accent, it sounds funny in the West. I watched some of the Mindy Project. She talks too fast like shes trying to prove shes superbrainy. I hated people like that at med school - jabbering fast to prove you are more intelligent than the ill patien...

Re: Godzilla King of the Monsters

meh on most fronts but finally things do pick up -if you havent walked out of the poorly acted, lightly scripted nonsense - in the last hour when the showdowns get under way. Acting in this movie seems to consist of speechless closeups of peoples faces with massive constipation problems. 2stars? Mig...
