It was as bad as I expected - but that's what tends to happen when Melissa McCarthy is in films

Re: Joy

The best film about a mop since... Yeah it was OK, but not great. The cynic in me says that someone is hoping the Jennifer Lawrence/Bradley Cooper/Robert De Niro/David O. Russell combination, will lead to Silver Linings Playbook-esque Oscar success? 6/10 purely for Jennifer. Everyone else in the fil...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Excellent film. This is how you start a new Star Wars trilogy (Phantom Menace take note). Daisy Ridley & John Boyega were excellent.

P.S. it's compulsory to want a BB-8 now isn't it?

Re: The Scorch Trials

Basically everything you just said! With no knowledge of the books, I really liked the first film. This one - not so much! It just felt "messy". Some parts Walking Dead, some parts World War Z, but never as good as either... and about 30 minutes too long.

Re: The Man from U.N.C.L.E

Really underwhelmed. The trailer gave me that "must see" vibe, but I think I fell asleep a few times in the cinema. Could've been so much better for me

Re: Terminator Genisys

Not as bad as I expected. It's not the worst in the Terminator series. That in itself deserves praise. That god awful spoiler heavy trailer killed any potential suspense. If I had to order them, I'd go; 1. Terminator 2 2. Terminator Then some way later... 3. Terminator Genisys 4. Terminator 3 5. Ter...

Re: San Andreas

It's your typical run of the mill Saturday night, Hollywood big budget disaster movie.

Ticks the relevant boxes. Occupies 2 hours of your time nicely. Won't win any awards. Ultimately goes into the archive alongside the likes of Day After Tomorrow etc etc etc...

Re: Survivor

Brosnan as a hitman? No... just no! Sounded a bad idea. Turned out to be a bad idea. The film itself isn't awful, just for the fact that I enjoy a film where you actually recognise 90% of the locations He's been a hitman before, in Matador. I didn't even bother with this That film was equally forge...

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road

despite the 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes , I can definitely see a lot of people hating it. There's barely even a thread of a plot, the dialogue is almost completely incoherent 1st hater reporting for duty! Let me first say, as good as Tom Hardy was, he played 2nd fiddle to Charlize Theron & Nichola...
