Re: A Monster Calls
Loved the film and thought it dealt with a difficult and all too common subject of children coming to terms with terminal illness. It's a difficult watch for adults never mind children but worthwhile. It was reminiscent of the Story Giant book at times. Great casting and fantastic sound and visual ...

Re: The Martian
Enjoyed the music, the science and felt like this is one that schools will want to show (without the language!) to get children motivated about science. Matt Damon great but wasn't sure it warranted the length of the film and 3D 8/10

Re: A Walk In The Woods
Really enjoyed the subtle one-liners and chemistry of the two characters. Great scenary and music also. I would say 7.5/10 but if you are a fan of the books then probably would want more of the quotes lifted from the book.

Re: Trainwreck
Surprisingly good - lots of the cameo roles and American sports star references were lost on me - would play better to an American audience. Lots of laugh out loud moments though and some good acting all round. Enjoyed this immensely 8/10 :0)

Re: The Overnight
Peculiar, funny and felt like there had been a few try outs (drugs) of the night's goings on by the scriptwriter. What was the trip to the massage parlour all about and how come someone who had consumed enough drugs and alcohol to kill you can then drive a car there and back? Entertaining but not ...

Re: The Connection
I saw this at Manchester Home - new cinema - tonight and thought it was fabulous! Even got a free Stella Artois chalice glass to boot! The film was gripping, well-acted and based on a true series of events. I was so engrossed that didn't even notice the very short change to English when there was a ...

Mr Holmes
Just seen a superb performance by Sir Ian McKellen as an elderly Sherlock Holmes. Although slow moving, the film mirrors the frail fog of poor memory, possible senility and failing health that his character is working through. His young protege who wants to learn more of Holmes's life and keep his ...
