Re: Arthur : Legend of The Sword
Watched this at a ram packed Cineworld Edinburgh Last night. Spectacular but predictable special effects - c'mon guys let's move on from frenzied fighting, switching to slo-mo, back to the frenzy and throw in a few more slo-mo's. Been done for years now. Get creative. Just didn't get the 'funny' sce...

Re: What We Do In The Shadows
:bwl: For anyone old enough to remember - this is old school Python and Spike Milligan with touches of Mel Brooks thrown in. I loved it. More like this please. Brilliant, add in a dash of Conchords and Anchorman for the rivalry with the (S)wearwolves and you end up with one of the funniest films in ...

Re: Cuban Fury
A truly, truly awful film. An embarrassment to British film & comedy. If the writer spent more than 5 minutes on the script I'm a .... no hang on, make that 2 minutes. Anyone familiar with Balamory on CBeebies will have recognised the Miss Hoolie style recap near the end as the lead told his boss hi...

Re: The Railway Man
Just been reading about Eric Lomax ... wow, what a life and not even a nod to 90% of it in this film. He was born 'n' bred in Edinburgh but had an 'english' accent in the film. His wife Patti was Canadian and also had an 'english' accent. It appeared to be made or funded largely by Australians so wh...

Re: The Railway Man
I'd also give this an 8/10.
For such a slow-paced film the (almost) 2 hours slipped by. Very moving and uplifting.
My only criticism? I knew nothing about Eric Lomax beforehand and I'm still in the dark after watching this.

Edinburgh also started at 6 and I got there are 6.10! Really annoying, My ticket said it was a 6pm start and I received an email from ShowFilmFirst this morning emphasising it was a 6pm start. mine said 6 for 6.30 and no email reminder. Interestingly, having re-checked my ticket, there were no spon...

Re: Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom
Just picked up tickets for the screening tomorrow (Tues 10) at Cineworld Edinburgh - thanks to ejsmall. It has an unusual start time of 6pm - any idea if this is an error? **************** Received an email from ShowFilmFirst this morning (Tues 10) confirming the following: "We would like...
