I had a questionnaire from a local theatre today asking my opinion on possible social distancing measures including seats 2m apart. Previews by design have usually been overbooked to then achieve maximum capacity. On the other hand off peak daytimes have seen me being the only viewer. If free previews were hard enough to get tickets for before, imagine the competition with 75% fewer tickets. Unless they also had 4 times as many ...

Whilst it might be easy to social-distance in a cinema mid morning on a summers day, I think we can fairly safely wave Bon voyage to any hope of our packed out fully attended free screenings for the foreseeable.
