Re: The Book Thief
Although I though it was very good, I didn't enjoy it just as much as so many others seem to have. Found that I was looking at my watch throughout, was a bit too long and thought story could have been told in less time. In saying that, I totally understood why it was paced that way. 7/10 from me. I...

Re: Cuban Fury
Sadly I couldn't stay for the Q&A but it was nice having the intro.
This was simply fantastic. Definitely worth braving the elements for.
Plenty of laughs, a major villian who you felt like booing everytime he appeared, romance & salsa. What else do you need?

Re: Dallas Buyers Club
Sorry to disappoint you but it was quite a good film.
Strong lead performance, I think he deserved his Oscar nomination.

Re: Out Of The Furnace
I thought the reason I couldn't stomach this film was because I was getting old, coupled with the fact I was not feeling too well.
"Glad" to hear other film-goers found this hard going and a bit too violent.
It reminded me of "The Fighter" but more gritty/slow-moving/violent.

Re: 12 Years A Slave
Great start to my 2014 viewing.
Not much to add, I pretty much agree with the previous comments.
No weak performances, no single big name/star hogging the limelight, tough subject matter superbly handled.

Re: Day Of The Flowers
It's not that bad nor too taxing.
Liked the music, scenery etc.
Perhaps it would've found more fans if it was a "tv movie".

Re: Frozen
Enjoyable and kept the children in the audience enthralled judging from their behaviour.
I thought it had a "grown up" feel to it, which was a good thing.
The short,
straddling both worlds,
was quite good too.

Re: Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom
I agree but I didn't let it distract me too much...I still got quite emotionalIdris Elba gave a decent performance but I often saw Idris Elba in prosthetics rather than Mandela
