Agree with you, Beate -- your post beat mine. Her three autobiographical books are so well written and moving and detail all that she and her family had to live through. She really was a most marvellous woman.
We went to a talk not that long ago that Judith Kerr gave -- she was wonderful! Recommend you read 'When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit' which tells the story of her family's escape from Germany.
