Re: Lion

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Very moving and awards worthy. Which prompts the question - why was Dev Patel only nominated as Supporting Actor for the Golden Globes? I'll never understand these idiosyncrasies...

Silence

I have nothing to say about this except that it was utterly, absolutely, interminably boring. In the true spirit of the film, it felt positively penitential. There are better things to do with your time. Roll on the positive reviews....

Re: Queen of Katwe

Made a point of seeing this today as I suspect it will not last long in the cinema. Great story of one girl's achievement but also the consequences on family and friends. Some gritty detail of life in Uganda for the poorest members of society. Love films based on real life stories and the ending sh...

I Saw The Light

This so much wanted to be Walk The Line, but came up short. Probably needed more background on where Hank came from to help round out the story. Performances were fine, music that really didn't stay with me. Biopic-king by numbers, I'd struggle to recommend this to anyone. McG, save your Limitless f...

Re: Goosebumps

I had been looking forward to this all day and I wasn't disappointed. I was expecting it to be a little scarier than a kids film and it certainly was aimed at over 12s. I'm sure I recognised Zack from somewhere but can't place him. Anyone else think that Jack Black was channeling Stewy Griffin in h...

Re: Goosebumps

It seems to me there hasn't really been a family film like this for years. Not really suitable for young kids admittedly, but both I and my 11 year old really enjoyed it.

Re: Sisters (2015)

A few amusing moments does not a movie make. I'm with stuartboy on this. Made worse by the 30 minute delay at the Glasgow screening. Wish I'd joined McG elsewhere...
