Re: Arthur : Legend of The Sword

I was at the Edinburgh showing and the place was packed. I went expecting quite a heavy going historical drama and I was pleasantly surprised that this was quite a light hearted take on the story of King Arthur and the sword in the stone. I was on board from the beginning and found all the cockney a...

Re: The Promise

I too, have to admit to not knowing about this terrible genocide and I was totally absorbed from the outset. Cannot believe it is still being denied and if this film succeeds in getting the message out then it has done its job. Would certainly reccommend. 9/10

Re: Kong: Skull Island

Not as good as previous versions, but if you approach it with a sit back and enjoy approach, then it ticks the boxes. I found some moments very funny and not sure that was meant. Samuel L Jackson was his usual gang honself, so didn't disappoint. All in all an entertaining couple of hours. 7/10

Re: Beauty and the Beast 2017

This was the first movie (animated version) that we took our daughter to when she was three and started her obsession with Disney. Have to say sitting with my now 25 year old daughter at this version I would say that the joy in her eyes was a exactly as it was 22 years ago. Excellent adaptation of t...

Re: Going in Style

Went this morning and it was well worth getting up and out early on a Sunday Morning. Always been a fan of Morgan Freeman and enjoy all his films. Chemistry was excellent with the 3 leads and it proves that you are never to old to give a good performance. Would recommend 8/10

Re: Hidden Figures

Bit late posting on this film, but even with the time since seeing it, I am still talking about how good it was so that's testament to the impression it left. Agree with all the positive commentary and have nothing more to add other than a definite go see. 10/10

Re: Lion

Absolutely loved this film. Totally engrossed from start to finish and such an amazing accomplishment to find his birth home from just the memory of his 5 year old self. Dev Patel was excellent and very hunky can I just say. Would love to read the book. Thoroughly recommend. 10/10

Re: Manchester by the Sea

I too had mixed feelings about this one. Would I have pa*d to go and see it ...NO. Was I happy to see it as it was free.... YES. Found it dragged a bit and due to all the sadness he had endured it was hardly going to be a laugh a minute but could have done with a few lighter moments.
