Re: Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

i used to cry whenever i saw ian dury and the blockheads on top of the pops as a child, he just plain scared me. (then again so did queen's 'crazy little thing called love' when they has all the legs sticking up through the stage) maybe this left an emotional scar which led to my 'pants' moment. so...

Re: Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

Maybe the manic graphics The graphics are by Peter Blake 8-) quote] One thing that I would like to have seen was something about his time at art college where he was taught by Peter Blake. Apart from the paintings on the walls, (and of course, the Peter Blake graphics ) there seemed to be no refere...

Re: Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

I also don't think that people who give a truthful and negative review should be made to feel that their opinions aren't valuable too. I agree and I would never do that. My comment wasn't directed at the negative review in any way. I remember being very badly criticised because I gave a couple bad ...

Re: Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

We are all entitled to our opinion about a film, and for the record, my review was not negative. If your referring to what I said I wasn't talking about your review. I was referring to the one that gave it 1/10 and said it was 'pants'. And I never said that person wasn't entitled to their opinion. ...

Re: Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

Personally I think it's depressing that several people seem to not even be prepared to give this film a chance on the basis of one review that refers to it as 'pants'. Although it is clearly a film that isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea. I have to say I enjoyed it. It's not a perfect film and...

Re: Up in the Air

They cancelled our screening at the Vue Greenwich! That's very annoying, but it seemed to work out in your favour. The Wimbledon screening went ahead though and was fairly busy. I'd seen it before also but enjoyed it so much the first time I decided to see it again. It was that or 'It's Complicated...

I thought it was another London screen when I saw it, but apparently it's in Leeds.

Re: Youth in Revolt

The Michael Cera/lovable loser thing was starting to get a bit old. Though that is still present here, the 'Francois' character at least suggests Cera is trying something different. I'll reserve judgment for now, but it looks promising.

Any chance of joining? If so any number's fine. I've had a quiet year as far as preview screenings go. Hoping to get a lot more in next year.

Re: Ponyo

I saw the trailer for this film yesterday whilst watching Planet 51 and whilst I liked the film and the themes, I did think the animation was a slight step back from his previous works . I disagree. I got the DVD on import several months ago after it's UK release was put back and I think the animat...
