Possibly sounds familiar as the voice of Manny the mammoth in the Ice Age films.

Re: The Big Sick

This was Odeon's Screen Unseen last night (despite clues strongly suggesting American Made).
If I'd known it was this beforehand I may not have bothered going as I'd seen it twice already, but glad I did as it really stands up to multiple viewings and still managed to make me laugh.

Re: Odeon Screen Unseen

Speculation its American Made due to the Neo clue, Tom Cruise was considered for the role in the Matrix. The clues do make sense in relation to that film but it doesn't have a certificate as yet. Would it matter? SU films are given a blanket 15 across the board anyway and it seems unlikely, from th...

Re: War for the Planet of the Apes

Director Matt Reeves sees out his part in the Planet of the Apes trilogy in considerable style with the thrilling and emotional War for the Planet of the Apes. The film starts with Caesar and the apes on the run from a human army led by a ruthless and determined Colonel (Woody Harrelson). After trag...

Re: Dunkirk

With Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan delivers a masterclass in suspense with this tense and relentless depiction of Operation Dynamo and the attempts to rescue 400,000 men from the beach and harbour of the French port. Omitting the usual scenes of generals in wood-panelled rooms pushing pieces around a m...

This if correct is the first fiim as director to be under the 2 hour mark
It's actually his first film since 2002's Insomnia to be under two hours.
Following and Memento were also less than 2 hours long.

The Big Sick

Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani makes a successful leap from supporting player to film lead with this sweet, emotional and very funny romantic comedy written with his wife Emily V Gordon and partly based on their early relationship. Starting in fairly traditional rom-com territory with meet-cutes, ...

Re: Churchill

From the guy who wrote the screenplay: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/jun/09/winston-churchill-black-dog-films-gary-oldman-brian-cox It's a woman actually. I have to admit I made that assumption when I went to the BFI Southbank screening and Q&A. When it said writer/historian Alex Von Tunzel...

Re: The Red Turtle

2nd viewing at the BFI last week with Michael Dudok de Wit Q&A confirms this as an extraordinary film and quite possibly a masterpiece.
I have already downloaded the beautiful score and picked up a copy of the Dutch blu ray from Amazon.
Everyone else should go and see the film in cinemas from Friday.

Re: Colossal

At the cinema tonight for Nacho Vigalondo's engagingly bizarre genre mash-up Colossal. Playing like a cross between a typical US small town-set indie drama and a gigantic monster B-movie, Colossal is an original and intriguing film that follows Gloria, an unemployed, hard partying woman who gets kic...
