It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but this is a superb film, capturing with painful accuracy the throttled, inarticulate grief that many adult men endure.

Some have painted Affleck as wooden, but he takes the role perfectly.

It has taken a bit of a hammering in the press, but it is not at all that bad.

In fact there is much that is very good - including an unusually dark premise, which is what people may have taken exception to.

Some bits don't work - but it's certainly a 3.5 out of 5.

Best Star Wars film since Empire. Liked the Guns of Navarone/Dirty Dozen vibe, especially as the stand-alone nature meant that, without a specific sequel to be factored in, (other than Star Wars itself), the production had greater freedom in deciding whether even quite central characters survive or ...
