Re: Love, Simon

I had no expectations for the movie, having seen so many coming age coming out movies recently. This was sweet saccharine sugar coated high school gay ROM com! Good fun with some magic moments 6/10 :P :wall:

Re: I, Tonya

Initially i was not keen on this as i have no real love for Ice skating etc and i did remember the story at the time.. but this was fabulous and added some details to the story.. i loved it and felt it showed some of the real power of narratives to motivate. Some really strong characters and funny p...

Re: Finding your feet

Not overly overjoyed with this.. clearly aimed at the grey market.. i saw it in a cinema and i was by far the youngest.. not original.. typical british comedy aimed at the life coach brigade 6/10

Re: Lady Bird

I felt that though this was of interest, it offered no originality. The same tropes were used.. 6/10

Re: The Shape of Water

I saw this last night.... and i thoroughly enjoyed it. As the first reviewer said... set in the age of paranoia and the consumerist culture .. side by side with the growth of american youth culture. The characters were slightly one dimensional apart from Eliza.. Enjoyable film 7/10

Re: Black Panther

Apparently Wesley Snipes was planning as far back as 1992 to do a BLACK PANTHER MOVIE! The mind boggles at the thought!. This film was an origin story.. slow burning but building up in to a majestic and engaging film. So much rested on it .. a burden of blackness ( unnecessarily as there are black f...

Re: The Post

I rather enjoyed this film. There were slow parts, there were parts that hard to decipher but the revelation at the end was justified. Tom and Merlyl did a fine job of representing characters that were flawed but dynamic, showing the role they operated in as well as the supporting characters. 7/10

Re: Battle of the Sexes

I rather enjoyed this little film... they did not have much to work on but a decent attempt. I think it was more suited to a tv drama rather than film. 7/10

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I actually really liked this film. i don't think there was anything original.. more of a reset to ground zero so they can restart again!.. clever move if they will be producing a movie every year... more action.. some jokes.... good christmas movie 7/10

Re: God's own country

I saw this today as part of the late freebies. I admit i had erred about this movie... much deeper than the tag as another gay movie.. so much more about the gritty realism of life on the farm...
