Re: Wreck It Ralph 2

I do believe Disney used its powers and position in today’s society to get a good deal with those brands to have them featured without any name changes necessary (who would be dumb enough to say no to such a worldwide product placement?). Perhaps the plot should have focused more on the dangers of t...

Re: Wreck It Ralph 2

Went to see it at the BFI preview on November 27th. I quite liked it, I found it to be the Disney movie I expected to see, and I appreciated the effort to depict how ugly the Internet can be when people use the safety of being behind their screens to be mean and aggressive to others. Was all that br...

The Grinch

My only trouble with this movie is that I was unfortunately sat way too close to a family with two young kids that had no interest whatsoever in the movie and were constantly moving and talking :nono: Why people behave in the cinema as if they were alone at home is beyond me, but from the little I c...

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

Saw it a few weeks ago, and I really love it!

It's a very nice Disney movie, perhaps some people will deem it quite typical for the studios, but for the holiday season it's worth a watch honestly.

It's true that JK Rowling changed her plans since then, I forgot about that, it was supposed to be a trilogy at first ;)

Re: Fantastic Beasts 2

Went to the BFI IMAX screening on Saturday. Might be the only one here, but I enjoyed the movie, not as much as the first one true, but it still held my attention and I was very pleased with the CGI. Yes, some parts were a bit slow and could have used a different approach, but in the end this is onl...

Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot

Tried Patrick Melrose, but I think its just for Cumberbytches. As if the details of a posh chap on drugs would make an interesting story. I should know by now that if Sky calls its new series "acclaimed" then that usually means it shyte. I read the books in parallel to watching this series, and whi...

Re: The Favourite

I was lucky enough to attend the BFI London Film Festival screening of this movie, and I have to say I'm not regretting any second of that incredible event! Not only we were privileged at the Embankment screening to have Olivia Coleman and Rachel Weisz come alongside director Yorgos Lanthimos to bri...

Re: First Man

Went to see it last night, and I have to admit I really liked it. It was a bit long at certain point to be honest, and I could feel from time to time that the story was kind of dragging... but in the end it was a nice overview of everything that led to the success of Apollo 11. Though how much is re...
