Re: I won....

We've won a pair of tickets to see The Spanish Tragedy at the Arcola Theatre in Hackney for tomorrow. That's not far from where we live and our last experience with the Arcola was this summer when my daughter looked after a rabbit who starred in the Handel opera Jephtha! (We thought the beautiful li...

Re: The Fantastic Mr Fox

Yes, we were in that Haymarket Cineworld basement too but I find that cinema superior to the other dungeon they often stick the free film shows in (though obviously I much prefer the luxurious cinema/theatre they once used). We thought the film was OK. Nothing outstanding but quite enjoyable. We wer...

Re: I won....

Thanks for remembering my post! We were the ones who heard the music played live to Crimson Wing and it was a really interesting way to view the film -- especially as so many of you said how awful the narration was. We had subtitles and a real live orchestra and it took place at Union Chapel in Isli...

Re: An Education

My daughter and I saw this at Covent Garden Odeon last night and we both enjoyed it. Some may think the ending is a cliché but this is a memoir and I'm happy to see they seem to have stuck to what was written rather than change it to make it appear cleverer. Thought the performances were excellent a...

Re: FOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!

You can still get 2 main courses for £10 at Prezzo and that is every day until 18 October. It's about the only offer I can see that is valid every day of the week. May be worth a try, Beate. I'm heading off to see my son at U of Nottingham tomorrow and will take a surplus of vouchers so he can choos...

Re: The Thanks Thread

Belated but most sincere thanks to Phunkygal for posting the link a few weeks back for a Smooth Radio competition. We won a pair of tickets to a preview for The Crimson Wing and we saw the film accompanied by a live performance of the music played by The Cinematic Orchestra. This was a terrific way ...
