Re: No Escape

It was OK - but more like a 'first draft' than a final strong blockbuster. Plotholes aplenty... Not an Owen Wilson fan generally, and not convinced at al here. As for Pierce Brosnan.... oh dear. Was this meant to be the comic relief? OK for free, but not worth p*ying for. Saw at the Leeds Light - ve...

Re: A Walk In The Woods

I enjoyed this - I think the occasional Bill Bryson quotes lifted the entertainment factor. It certainly was more entertaining than (e.g.) Reese Witherspoon's Wild IMO. 1 came away with a really positive, relaxed feeling.

Not that memorable, but enjoyable.

Re: Legend

I was mesmerised by trying to work out how the CGI (or whatever it is) worked. Very impressive technology, but while the film wad engaging, for me, it did not totally deliver.

Definitely worth seeing though.

Re: Paper Towns

I think 'okay' sums it up - it started in an interesting way, but never fully developed. But, that kind of fits with many teen movies.

Re: Best of Enemies

I really enjoyed this. Gore Vidal seemed to have invented the soundbite, when others just rambled on. Very clever, and also some interesting Hollywood gossip (Joanne Woodward engaged to Gore Vidal, before getting married to Paul Newman). And, well, hindsight is a wonderful thing, and there was so mu...

Virtual reality to change film - story studio

"Felt sorry for Mrs H, though I also wanted to know what motivated her to do what she did (other than cop out "love") because its hard to believe anyone would put up with what was essentially a full time care job for years on end basically fresh out of her teens. Absoutely full marks to her for doi...

Re: Foxcatcher

Well, I have a soft spot for Channing Tatum, so I expected to enjoy this. (It is no Magin Mike performance though.) I can happily watch Mark Ruffalo too - a Although I was trying to 'place the face' for a while. (The adult babygrows that they wore as wrestlers that was not something I expected MR to...

Re: Birdman

Finally got round to seeing this tonight, and I'd heard so many negatives that I was not sure if it would be something I would like or not. But I was pleasantly surprised - indeed, I really enjoyed it. I am always rubbish at recognising cast members, but this was a great cast - cannot believe Emma S...
