Re: Molly's Game
Good fast paced, well acted drama. I didn't notice the time passing. Played like a real life Grisham from the client's perspective rather than the lawyers. Interesting.

Re: The Greatest Showman
I saw the costumes from the film on display in Buenos Aires earlier this month (I'm not sure why exactly they were there, that wasn't clear!) and I quite liked the trailer so was looking forward to this. However after reading your reviews and knowing I absolutely hated Les Mis, I'm now not so sure.....

Re: Murder on the Orient Express
It was a bit slow and plodding. With the all star cast I thought it could and should have been a bit better....

Re: The Disaster Artist
Bonkers! I thought James Franco was excellent. I wasn't so convinced by a Dave Franco. They went to a heck of a lot effort to get it right and it pa*d off. I wasn't convinced I'd enjoy it from the synopsis, but I'm glad I went.

I enjoyed it. I didn't realise she was in Its a Wonderful Life until I read it in the Sunday Times today. A nice wee film. Peter Turner himself plays the theatre janitor in one scene.
7/10 from me.

Re: The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Settling and unnerving it certainly was. I enjoyed the Lobster and was hoping for more of the same. This was too dark and too many overtones and layers and suppositions and little comedy in this for me. In all honesty it's been disturbing me since I left the screening over 12 hours ago now! I'm not ...

Re: Only the Brave
I actually thought this was rather well done. It dudnt glorify the firemen or the fires in a way other fire films have in the past. It did show a respect for fire and the devastation it can cause. Yes it wasn't the most exciting of films, they were seen chainsawing trees and digging trenches and it ...

Re: The Death of Stalin
I saw this today with Sweet Sunday. It was a very clever satire of some truly horrendous events. It was very, very cleverly fine and I dudnt find the accents distracting, I actually found I probably listened more carefully to the dialect rather than filtering out bad accents. Fabulous score too. Not...
