Re: Big London screens - Sky Superscreen/IMAX/Vue Xtreme, et

I would also have to agree that BFI IMAX would be my preference every time if it wasn't so expensive. You can't beat it IMO although I haven't been in a vue xtreme screen. If you are going to splash out for BFI IMAX I would suggest you try to sit as close to the back as possible and as close to the ...

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness

Of course, the big flaw of the film is that it's really not a Star Trek film. It's great fun but it's really not a proper Trek film. Probably why I liked it so much! :D I agree the new films do have a different feel but as someone who couldn't bear anything Star Trek related before, I'm grateful fo...

Re: Summer in February

Just tried to book some last minute tickets for this for tomorrow morning but the code is saying invited guests only  Doesn't seem like the kind of screening that would be restricted.

However after reading some of the reviews I think I'd prefer a lie in!

Re: Fast and Furious 6

Loved it - definitely the best of the bunch for me. I've watched them all from FF1 but always thought they were fairly average films. The fast cars are fun to watch and you know what you are getting but I've never been eagerly anticipating the next film. Can't wait for FF7 - FF6 did its job well! Ag...

Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?

Thought I'd get through the episodes of Boss (Kelsey Grammer's new show) I recorded on More4 and I'm a bit disappointed really. Thought it had all the ingredients that would be right up my street and based in my second favourite city in the world too! But it's really quite dull. The story telling is...

Lol, you are all really selling this to me. Have to say, I'm intrigued to see what it's like because it has a strong cast on paper.

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness

Absolutely loved it! I didn't have a problem with the 3d but I am a fan of 3d films and I was sitting in the in the middle of the middle (if that makes any sense!) so probably in quite a good spot. I was never a fan of the original series but I do love the modern franchise. Hope there is more to com...

Re: The Eye of the Storm

I would have walked out of this but didn't know whether my friend was enjoying it. We are going to have to have a code phrase for the future - oh, I know 'Eye of the Storm'. :X This is exactly what happened to me! I kept on trying to nudge my friend to say shall we leave (I never leave!) but I coul...

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread

On the opposite end of the scale I saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on Saturday, which is easily one of the best plays I've ever seen. It's an incredibly apt adaptation of the book (which is very good indeed) and the experience is heightened in the theatre with very clever and ...

Loved Veronica Mars, was a shame when the series ended. The film will have a lot to live up to.
