Re: The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Unnerving and bizarre. Some moments where I literally watched through my hands, but also was intrigued to see where on earth it would all end. Even now I'm not sure what to make of it! Second time this year, where I've watched something utterly bonkers unfold in front of my eyes (see also-Mother!) 6...

Re: The Death of Stalin

A great satire. I didn't expect to enjoy this film, but several laugh out loud moments and some good performances all round.

Re: Call Me By Your Name

Really enjoyed this film. An amazing soundtrack (including some lush contributions from Sufjan Stevens), long lazy summer scenes and a tender coming of age story at the heart 8/10

Re: Blade Runner 2049

Quite a lot of hype for this film, not 100% sure it lived up to it for me, but then the original is such a classic. The long run time meant I was lagging a bit at times, but an amazing score and some really nice cinematography, so going to give this 7/10.

Re: The Ritual

Similarities to Blair Witch, in terms of horror plot (scary weird stuff going on in the middle nowhere), but with more humour. Ultimately, I felt it was anti-climatic and a bit predictable at times. 5/10

Re: The Glass Castle

Some very good performances. Quite a long run time, but story had a nice flow to it. 6/10 for me.

Re: Mother!

It's been a few days since a saw this and I still can't work out what to make of it. Torn between appreciating that it was "an experience", but also feeling that it wasn't very cohesive and was often frustrating to watch. I look forward to hearing about what other FMUKers made of it! I'm going with ...

Re: Wind River

Good crime thriller, nice scenery. Inspired by true events and some scary statistics presented. 3/5.
