Re: Fantastic Beasts 2

Went to the BFI IMAX screening on Saturday. Might be the only one here, but I enjoyed the movie, not as much as the first one true, but it still held my attention and I was very pleased with the CGI. Yes, some parts were a bit slow and could have used a different approach, but in the end this is onl...

Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot

Tried Patrick Melrose, but I think its just for Cumberbytches. As if the details of a posh chap on drugs would make an interesting story. I should know by now that if Sky calls its new series "acclaimed" then that usually means it shyte. I read the books in parallel to watching this series, and whi...

Re: The Favourite

I was lucky enough to attend the BFI London Film Festival screening of this movie, and I have to say I'm not regretting any second of that incredible event! Not only we were privileged at the Embankment screening to have Olivia Coleman and Rachel Weisz come alongside director Yorgos Lanthimos to bri...

Re: First Man

Went to see it last night, and I have to admit I really liked it. It was a bit long at certain point to be honest, and I could feel from time to time that the story was kind of dragging... but in the end it was a nice overview of everything that led to the success of Apollo 11. Though how much is re...

Re: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

Just like @Deanbutlin I really preferred the first movie.
Don't get me wrong, I did like watching that second movie, but I felt like it was missing the "simplicity", if I can say, of the first movie.

Re: A Simple Favour

I was lucky enough, as a BFI member, to get a ticket for the European premiere of this movie, and while this is not generally my cup of tea, I did have a good time watching it. Would I watch it again if I had the opportunity? Probably not, because as I said it's not really a genre of movie I usually...

Re: The House With A Clock In Its Walls

I went to see this movie at the BFI IMAX, literally jumped on the tickets when they were released (I'm not even kidding, I was waiting for the IMAX to finally put some screenings of this movie so when I saw their FB post I had to get my ticket as quickly as possible as to not miss out), and I have t...
