Re: Phantom of the Open

Wasn't sure if I would like that movie but I got invited to see it and I must admit the story was so sweet and enchanting, I don't regret going. A bit slow in some parts, but overall an amazing performance from everyone, definitely recommend!

Re: Lost City

I was not expecting to enjoy this movie as much as I did. When I saw the trailer I was like "OMG another silly rom-com that wants to tap into the action genre" and yeah there's definitely a bit of that here and there but the chemistry between the leads, the constant banter and Daniel Radcliffe naili...

Re: Uncharted

Enjoyed the movie when I went to see it at the cinema, but it's unlikely I'll watch it a second time, unless it's available on a streaming service I'm subscribed too... I know nothing of the games, so I can't comment on the fidelity of the plot or the characters. As far as I'm concerned, everyone wa...

Re: Batman

(I want to preface this post by saying I'm not a DC fan, I know nothing of the comics, and my knowledge of the character is limited to the Nolan films and the cartoons of my childhood) While I enjoyed watching it, I thought the movie was 1h too long. There were a few slow parts that could have easil...

Re: Dune (2021)

Saw the movie at an exclusive BFI preview on October 5 and it was truly amazing. I had no read the book at all prior to seeing the movie but it was so well made that knowledge of the book is not necessary to understand the story. All the characters are set up nicely, the cast is on point and the pho...

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Went to see it on release day, and it's by far my favourite Marvel movie of the year (I really enjoyed Black Widow, but this one topped it). I found the story compelling, the fighting scenes were amazingly choreographed and the cast was just on point. It feels like a lot of care went into this movie...

Re: Free Guy

Quite enjoyed that movie. It passes the time nicely and was better than I expected from a Ryan Reynolds movie. It was silly and non-sensical at times, but not in an annoying way. Cast was ok, appreciated the cameos, but it's definitely not the kind of movie I would watch more than the one time.

Re: The Last Letter from your Lover

It was a nice movie to watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I agree with previous comments that the mix of timelines could have been handled a bit better, especially in the beginning as while they opened the film in the 60s and told us as much, I didn't see anything telling me we were in the present w...

Re: The Jungle Cruise

Really enjoyed watching that movie on its release day. Went with a friend and we both loved the way the story went as well as the ending, it was quite fitting imo. I didn't have high expectations for it, it's Disney, and I always end up having a great time watching Disney movies.

Re: Pixar Luca

This movie was a very sweet summer adventure from Pixar, I really enjoyed it, though unlike most of their movies I wasn't brought to tears at any point during it. I guess I didn't resonate with the story as much as I usually do...
