Hear, hear, Diane! Don't be so hard on yourself. By being aware of what you're eating and actively trying to do something about it, is half the battle I find. I'm taking small steps to try and get back up to scratch (as per private message) and managed 30 minutes on the treadmill this morning, which is a bit of a milestone after a significant layoff!Diane65 wrote:We need to waken up this thread.

I had a look at the one which isn't a Fitbit - Jawbone, that's it - and it's not actually that much prettier despite costing a lot more. Because you have to wear it all day long the aesthetics are important for me - I have a client facing job! A good friend of mine does have a Fitbit and he loves it. One of the reasons why I'm tempted... I already measure most of my walking through Runkeeper on my smartphone, but I'm curious as to how many calories I burn from all the tramping around the Underground and without phone signal and GPS, my smartphone stops being so smart.
Asamaic, I'm loving the Fitbit and it's keeping me motivated, as other friends who have it can enter challeneges with each other and there's a further degree of accountability that way (for me anyway!) Like you, I have to be presentable for work and my Fitbit (Charge HR) is pretty discreet and I think it just looks like a slim digital watch. I have it linked into my 'MyFitnessPal' account also, which makes it easier to track calories burned etc.
