Happy birthday for yesterday, Diane!

I'm struggling to eat healthily at the moment - the times I can fall asleep are very erratic (yesterday I didn't get up till 6.30pm - slept all day; then slept at 6am this morning & just got up now. I'm craving sweet stuff as I'm so lethargic. Aiming to improve this in March!).

Hi all, I thought that I should check out this thread again as I've been quite lax with my diet recently.....& I see there have been no new posts from anyone since mid Feb! Hope you all ok? Have your diets slipped too like mine?

Weight Watchers... Assemble!

I finally got back on the wagon on Monday and started logging what I eat. I'm also running 5K on Saturday (not parkrun for once). If I can summon a bit of willpower, anyone can. C'mon... back on the wagon... who's with me? o/

Well done, asamaic, Diane and ClareBarr for finally getting back on here and hope you will get the encouragement you deserve.

Best wishes on your 5K run, asamaic. I'll be cheering on son David who is running the Hackney Half Marathon this Sunday. At least I'll get my exercise walking to a couple of spots on the route! When he got home after running the London Marathon I greeted him with "watching a marathon is exhausting!" and it really was! Hoping the weather stays a bit cool as it was boiling hot for the London Marathon back in April.

I've been mainly volunteering rather than running lately and am indeed volunteering again at parkrun tomorrow. But the Hackney Half people are putting on a free 5K in the afternoon on the Saturday, so I thought why not? Volunteer then run. I know a few people in the Hackney Half, but it's too far for me. Baby steps!

Not treating the 5K as a race - it's just me getting round the course. :) I'm doing the big Run to Do Good at the start of June so need to check my legs still move!

At least you'll have longer to wait and cheer this time, ejwrank. It's "only" a half! ;) Hope David enjoys his run. I know a lot of race packs have been sent out late this year, but by all accounts the Hackney Half is generally a really well-organised event in which to take part. The people I know running it again this year recommend it.

Day 5... still behaving...

Volunteering in the morning and then running a 5K in the afternoon -- that's commitment, asamaic. Wishing you well tomorrow!

Well, I'm knackered. The combination of travelling to parkrun this morning and the Hackney 5K this afternoon, together with the 5K itself, means I've smashed my usual steps for the day.

The run was so warm - there are long bits of the course in the open field without any shade - but the organisers did a cracking job. They had a stall with spare safety pins, plasters, bobbles, sunscreen, vaseline, tissues - you name it - just in case anyone needs anything at the last-minute. There's also an osteopath tent for after the run.

Ejwrank, your son should have a great day ahead tomorrow! The early start should make the conditions a bit more pleasant. The only thing I would say is if he has any kind of pollen problem, dose up on antihistamines beforehand. o/

Have done my best not to binge eat today (I have quite a large calorie adjustment from all the running) on the basis that my body will expect the same feast tomorrow if I do so. There. That's progress.

This week has been pretty good so far, and I just have one day left in which I have to behave to make it to a whole week of being on the wagon.

Hope everyone else is being good, or at least enjoying being wicked. C'mon, climb back on the wagon with me. It's a good place to be! o/

Well done, asamaic! You can be proud of yourself and doing it in the heat must have made it even more tiring and difficult. I'm certainly proud of you!

I'm glad they are starting early tomorrow at the Hackney Half -- hopefully David will get through before it gets too hot.

Hoping you treat yourself with something nice on Sunday -- you deserve it!

Went out for a very piggy dinner today with a skinny friend and through clever menu planning, I managed to limit my blow out to 1,000 calories, whilst his blow out was 2,500 calories. I really don't know he manages to stay that thin given what he eats...

Ate very little during the rest of the day to afford the calories for the blow out dinner. A very balanced end to week one. Stayed on the wagon without curtailing my socialising. o/

:star: Total weight loss: 2.8lb. :star:

Monday is a new week. Is anyone going to join me? Diane65, ClareBarr and Preston1990 - where are you all lurking? Step away from the chocolate bar!

Saw David in the results, ejwrank - he must be pleased with that time. o/ How was it supporting? Did you have a chance to explore the festival village? I'm tempted to do the British 10K next year. This July however I will be volunteering rather than participating - need to get my fitness up first!
