Times plus membership problems

#1 Post by LiteupLee » Mon May 08, 2017 11:23 pm

Has anyone had any problems getting vouchers that was part of the deal when signing up? We were supposed to recieve a £10 Amazon voucher when we signed up, but after 4 months, we still can't get the voucher.
Speaking on live chat today with them, they strongly advised to take £10 credit off our next subscription instead of the Amazon voucher.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I live chatted about 3 weeks ago and they said they'd chase up the voucher and I should get back in touch with them in 28 days.

I cancelled my subscription recently so a discount off my membership would be no good.

Good luck. Has anyone else got there's?

I'm still waiting after over two years now! Have conversed with them and been promised at least five times now! Bunch of liars.

Wonder which is best, trade standards or ombudsman? Am seriously thinking of doing it. I know it's only a £10 voucher, but why should they get away with it?

Same here, despite raising it with them twice still waiting for the voucher, like yogi I have now cancelled my membership Not good that so many have not received. Has anyone actually received theirs?

Maybe we need to get together and report.

That's what I was thinking akh43. If there was quite a few people with the same complaint, then a complaint could be made elsewhere

I've not received my £10 Amazon voucher either despite four phone calls. Just been told "I can advise that you will receive your voucher within the next 14 days at maximum."

What about writing to the Consumer Editor (or similar) at The Times? Some time back some readers had problems with a Guardian offer (nothing to do with subscriptions but an item that was specially offered and specially priced to readers). A reader had problems with his order and wrote to the Guardian Saturday consumer advice column -- so it named and shamed the Guardian. Naturally they responded immediately. Or you might write to a rival newspaper consumer advice column and they might try to find out what is going on! Might be worth a try????

That's pants.

I recently cancelled my Times subscription, I had a few problems with them, ie I complained to them about something, the guy said he'd get back to me, but instead of mailing me, he emailed my mother. I then complained further as he gave 'my mother' a number to ring but no one responded to voicemail. I then emailed the complaint, no response.

When I cancelled, I was asked why, I gave the above reason and that their journalists seemed to have been transferred The Sun. The guy wasn't interested about the poor customer service.

I subscribed to The Telegraph and they gave me £50 online voucher, it didn't come as fast as I thought it would, they quickly apologised and sent it.
