:D I remember the Access card! I got it through my bank, Midland Bank, now HSBC. I didn't have Visa.

Found this on Wikipedia:
Access was a British credit card brand launched by Lloyds Bank, Midland Bank, National Westminster Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland/Williams & Glyn's Group in 1972 to rival the already established Barclaycard. It became defunct in 1996, when it was taken over by MasterCard.

Vue pondering a mid-July reopening.

Whilst it might be easy to social-distance in a cinema mid morning on a summers day, I think we can fairly safely wave Bon voyage to any hope of our packed out fully attended free screenings for the foreseeable.

I mean, obviously we all like to go to the cinema here, but it's not worth your life. They'd have to introduce pretty stringent measures for me to attend again, and yes, I can't see free previews happening either for a while.

Free previews would be easiest to arrange surely? It might even be the model.

They can give out 25% of capacity, we already know people arrive and queue orderly. That can be further policed like supermarkets have done throughout. People can be seated in batches and told to take the next available seats.

There have been previews in the past not much different to that, it's general admission where everybody just does their own thing that's the bigger issue?

Previews by design have usually been overbooked to then achieve maximum capacity. On the other hand off peak daytimes have seen me being the only viewer.
If free previews were hard enough to get tickets for before, imagine the competition with 75% fewer tickets. Unless they also had 4 times as many free screenings?

I had a questionnaire from a local theatre today asking my opinion on possible social distancing measures including seats 2m apart. I can't see that being any use at all - sitting in a large room for 2+ hours when someone sneezes? Surely that cloud of potential germs can travel more than 2m with ease. Maybe need to sit with an astronaut's helmet on?
