Thanks Beate.

I try to keep the spirit and environment at work light, but often wonder if it is taken the wrong way, as I don't get any response.. I just want to stay positive!

The taken the wrong way bit is tricky one as I know when I find out that another one of my patients has died from Coronavirus and then the next minute you get a joke on Whatsapp I do not find them funny. I am thinking people are dying and so called friend's think it's one big joke. But I do understand that it is because I work for the NHS I will take it too personally as I really do care about the patients.

I get the one's about funny haircuts, animals etc as not making fun of the pandemic but the one's about making PPE out of shirts becsuse people can't get the correct PPE absolutely sick.

It really does depend on your own personal situation and what you have witnessed as to what you find funny.

You have a good heart PXC xx

I totally agree with Diane65. This was one of the reasons I stopped using Social Media a few weeks ago. I was struggling with some jokes when people I knew were dying. I am now back using it a little more but definitely limit both time and responses.
We know you well enough, pxc, to know that anything you do or say is said with good intent. I'm sure people who know you are aware of that too but everyone has times when their emotions and feelings are in a different place. Be yourself, pxc, as that's all any of us can be and accept that other people just might not feel the same as you do on any particular day. ❤ xx
Thank you to all essential workers, including Diane65 and others in the caring services. Take care xx

Oh Diane, that French holiday replacement is so inspiring! Did you also put your luggage on a switched on home gym treadmill and sit for a while in front of a washing machine window, pretending it's a plane window? ;)

I went to the post box in front of the post office today and saw that my favourite Chinese take away had reopened! They had plexiglass shields at the counter, hand sanitizer, big 2 m distance signage and a sign telling you to wait outside once ordered. So I got my usual, and I took loads of pictures of flowers in the park as well. It's so warm! Now back on the sofa. :)

Thanks Diane and McG. I definitely do not post anything about deaths or offensive Coronavirus jokes, because I find them offensive and in poor taste myself!

I only forward to my Team positive jokes and memes. Since I do not get any responses, I have stopped it anyway.

I do love your French holiday replacement too, Diane! What a lovely idea!

I am going to venture out this Wednesday on my non-work day to see if I can get a take away too! I am getting so tired of cooking so many meals. It's my 10th week of lockdown. I feel in need of a treat! o/

Sounds like you've had a good day, Beate. I hope you enjoy your meal. I've only had home made meals for the past 8 weeks but a Chinese meal sounds fab 😉

The takeaway Beate sounds divine and it really does make us appreciate these lovely treats. Hope that you enjoy yours too Prettyxcool.

I am like you McG only having homemade meals but I have had 2 lovely meals out at The Fence restaurant and I have reciprocated twice. The Fence restaurant is myself and nextdoor neighbours removing a fence panel and having a bbq together. It really is good fun as we do it socially distanced but can only have food that can be served using tongs (we even have our own sets). My turned around bench (it marks 2 metres) is the serving area.

Hope everyone is doing ok

Sounds like a great plan, Diane65 . . . everyone keeps their distance but can still enjoy a meal together. Stay safe and enjoy someone else cooking 😉

I managed an Asda delivery yesterday, but I'm not too enamoured with the process. He wouldn't bring it upstairs, the apples were missing and they always say my TV mag is unavailable, when I know for a fact it's on the shelf! So I'll have to go to the corner shop on Friday. Not going anywhere in this heat before! With the windows open I'm getting a nice breeze from the river most of the time though.

And a friend on twitter told me they are selling white asparagus on Roman Road, and she is going to get some and bring it round on her bike! You have absolutely no idea how exciting this is - I didn't even know British white asparagus exists - why isn't it in the shops then?

My cucumbers and courgettes are thriving and the tomatoes are coming up too now. It's so lovely watching it!
