The Diary Room
Well then, here we are! Apologies for all the difficulty during the last few days, but I assure you it's at an end and we're safe to rebuild.
Here's a neat trick you can use to salvage stuff from the former site, just in case the site doesn't come back - worst case scenario.
Type cache: into google, then take the url of any page of the site, e.g. the portal, and paste it in
e.g.
cache:http://fmuk.dailyforum.net
Try it!
It is, as google says, "a snapshot of the page" - they save basic information for their records. By basic I mean text and some images. But it's sufficient to get a good deal across. You'll also notice that it's slightly out-of-date. The homepage for example was snapped on the 15th, before my most recent update. But the fact that it's not completely up to date means we can get things from before the site's disappearance.
So if there's anything in particular you want to keep, by all means do so!

Re: The Diary Room
OK here's an example - a post I just copied across...
The url was originally http://fmuk.dailyforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5850
So I went to google and searched for
cache:http://fmuk.dailyforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5850
It comes up with everything needed :)

Re: The Diary Room
The site is hopefully coming back, the hosts appear to be working on it, though I can't make any promises.obprestige wrote:i had a link for some tickets sent to me but hadent printd thm yet. Is th old site coming back or is it gone forever??

You're best bet is to PM whoever sent you tickets (was it me? ) to have them re-send you the link...

Re: The Diary Room
When you come across a link, just right click it and select Copy Link Location (or equivalent if you're on IE), then just repeat the procedure, typing cache: into google and pasting the urlpriamia wrote:I wondered that too??Beate wrote:How do I know the URL's of the FMUK posts I need?
