Re: IT Help, Please
I've got a problem with signing into random websites, where it keeps coming up saying password and username not recognized, even though they most certainly are correct. Even if I email for a new password link, I still get the same problem. One of the websites is Picturehouse website, another one, just a magazine website. I cannot for the life of me work out what this is. Any ideas?

Try typing the password into Word or notepad and then copy this into the website, that way you definitely know it is correct
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Re: IT Help, Please
This is a TV query. My sister has a Sony Bravia, a few years old, but still a Smart TV. We are trying to watch All4 which is the Ch4 on demand service. Sony don't appear to have it but future TV's will be getting Youview, but they will not update old ones
So is there a device, streaming, plug in etc, that doesn't have to be plugged into the TV or if it does need to be plugged in, doesn't then need to be plugged into the mains?
hope this makes sense vx

Re: IT Help, Please
There are various streaming sticks that plug into the HDMI port and can take power from a USB port on the tv.

Re: IT Help, Please
What about just a smartphone or tablet with the app and a HDMI lead?

Re: IT Help, Please
thanks Guys,
I was thinking about mirroring and stuff but we are old and its too complicated. She won't want a HDMI cable as the cat would probably eat it!
I'll have a look for usb streaming stick vx

Re: IT Help, Please
Valda,
ALL streaming sticks plug into the HDMI port. The ONLY use for USB is to provide power. You can get short leads from ebay, typically 50cm but you cannot eliminate trailing cords. You could use the longer cord provided and just coil up the excess and use a tie wrap to hold it togther. Its up to yo but you cannot avoid trailing wires. Then again you can always use gaffer tape to stick the wire to the back of the TV thereby hiding the wires from temptation by the cat. Avoid covering air vents.
NB. You can also get short HDMI extension leads from ebay to prevent the stick sticking straight out the back so you can lay it flat to the TV. Chromecast already has a short lead ad part of the device so tou won't need an extension for that.

Re: IT Help, Please
Thanks STeve9872,
she has the TV mounted on the wall, and there's quite a bit of space back there.
Its so annoying that depending on the TV you have, whether you can access catch up channels
