Hey all i will be going to Germany, Frankfurt as the end of August for a long weekend break. Was wondering if anyone who has been there already and could give us some tips on what to do and where to go ect. Or even anything you think you maybe be able to do there. Going in a group of 4-6 and all in our mid twenties...

Thanks in advance

Have a look here: http://www.frankfurt.de/sixcms/detail.php?id=317578
Other than that I would actually recommend to leave Frankfurt behind and explore the region around it.

Thanks for that Beate.

Thats a nice list of places to see, but would you mind listing your top like 3-4 must see places.

Also which other regions in particular would recommend around Frankfurt?

Thanks :cross:

Boat tours are always great. You can book tours of the airport which are quite interesting. I love zoos. Other than that, it really depends on how much you like museums and old buildings! You shouldn't miss the Roemer though. I will come back to you regarding surrounding areas.

Avignon/ Provence

#6 Post by lucky_charm » Tue Jul 21, 2009 2:24 pm

Since we haven't got a holiday board, and others have posted of their holidays in general discussion...

I'm lucky enough to be going to the South of France for 9 months from October, and will probably be living in Avignon. During that time I'm hoping to travel all sorts of places, but am particularly interested in any experiences/ info people have on the Provence area, especially Avignon but anywhere about the area really, like Aix-en-Provence, Marseille etc. I've already been to Nice, Cannes, Monaco etc several times so I'm more interested in doing things further along the coast from those areas. Would also be interested in seeing Montpellier, Grenoble and Lyon so again any tips are appreciated as I have no experience whatsoever of those areas! o/

I lived in Frankfurt for 4 years before moving to London. If you are going during the last weekend of August, you're going to be there during the Museumsuferfest (the party of the museums). It's by far the most awesome time to go to Frankfurt, apart from the xmas market. Lucky you!!!

Why did you merge this, AYBG? One holiday thread is just stupid!
