Pacifically when a person means specifically (or any like that).
H pronounced as Haytch instead of aytch ... just sounds weird to me.
Phonetic alphabet oddities ... eg. if say someone were spelling FORUM and they say foxtrot, Oscar, romeo, uniform, monkey...lol it's more funny than annoying. :giggle:

Oh - and while I'm about it - it's "one hundred AND three", not "one hundred three"!

this thread reminds me of when I first came down to london, and was at a party one day and this Scandi chick kept saying "innit innit" as a joke to me because I was "Asian"...only back then I didnt know Asian people down here used that phrase so it was completely lost on me. I smiled politely but thought "what does this hurdygurdy nutbag mean?"

only cottoned on later that innit is a london phrase, and that my scandi buddy had assumed that since England is such a tiny country, then we all sound exactly the same here.

Serious point though - I have a bugbear over some new foreigners who dont understand what a northern accent is, and for some idiot reason assume we are just talking sarcastically all the time everyday. WTF how dumb are you to do that. Who talks sarcastically 24/7?

Its an ACCENT you child, grow up. I once praised this Aussie guy for his recent promotion and he retorted oh "u dont need to get sarcastic". I had no idea if he meant me or someone else, or was he making a joke? at the time. But later it dawned on me thatb he was just a bit simple and presumptive when it came to British accents.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Haha. This thread was a good laugh. Just what I needed.

It reminded me of 3 particular condolence messages we got when a close relative died.

There were two 'May his soul rest in internal peace' emails (instead of eternal peace) and one wishing us 'solace, comfort and infernal peace during this difficult time'. 8O

On a separate note, my pet peeve is people who don't correctly spell.....sepArate.
:nono:

P.S. Our Steve, my fave was the GGLKI - gotta go, laxative kicking in! :p

P.P. S. Raj, I love your 'hurdygurdy' word :p
