Hello....I have been wondering this for a while so maybe I should just ask!

When I log in, I never tick the box titled 'Hide my online status this session' and yet I always seem to be hidden?
Any reason for this? Or are users unable to see their own user name in the 'who is online' section at the bottom of the forum?

Go to 'user control panel' (up at the top on the right) and then to 'board preferences' (on the middle left somewhere) and then you'll see that you can adjust lots of different things including your online status visibility. Perhaps the hidden option has been highlighted, in which case you can change it and save your settings. Then log out, log in once more and hopefully you won't be invisible! o/

Hope that works!

I can see my name on the board list so you should be able to ....err...too. :p Give this a go, it should be the solution.

Random question - what's a Google bot? And why does it lurk in on FMUK?

It's basically a spy for search programms like google or yahoo. The more they spy, the higher up in the hacking order we might get, so they are good.

Ah, thanks. I did think it was something to do with that, but had to ask.
