For those who are reluctant to delete all their cookies there is the following program.
http://www.ampsoft.net/utilities/Cookie ... p#Download
It will allow you to find and delete just the FMUK cookies so that you don't end up logged out of other sites. Be careful how you use it as you can easily delete all your cookies anyway with this program. Once you cleared the FMUK cookies delete the browser cache - usually referred to as temporary internet files. In IE8 its Tools-Internet options-General-Browsing History-Delete. Select only Temporary Internet Files and Ok your way out.
When finished go to this address and log back in.
http://forum.fmuk.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=2
Its the free films page which is sent in the email every time a new code is posted.

I told you this afternoon that http://forum.fmuk.org.uk is the correct address. Yes but it keeps logging me out, and you are making out you have told people that many times its driving you crazy....well that what :wall: :wall: :wall: means to me
It's a problem because when you log in your browser downloads a cookie to remember your login and keep you that way.
But the cookie is the same whichever url you visit from. but it works? and it doesn't keep kicking me out
So if you visit http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum and log in it'll download the cookie to keep you logged in
But if you then visited http://forum.fmuk.org.uk, it tries to download the cookie but can't because it's already downloaded. That's why you can't stay logged on.But i have cleared the cookies etc and gone back to http://forum.fmuk.org.uk and its still keeps logging me out
Then shortly afterwards, because the cookie settings are configured for http://forum.fmuk.org.uk, the cookie will stop working for http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum and won't let you stay logged in.
By logging into one of the other url's, even if it works at first it'll stop, and you're just repeating the process. I can't help you if you don't follow my advice.
Thanks but again i've cleared the cookies etc used the http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum and it won't work, are you saying keep trying because i've been doing that for hours

I followed your instructions in your earlier post and was unable to log in. I had been using the same window that had worked fine when I posted this morning. I have had no login problems with this site until just now.
What should I be trying now if I shouldn't use ASAD's link? I was unaware that using it could cause problems. If I hadn't used it I would still not be logged in and I would not have been able to let anyone know what was happening.

It works fine in both browser. You just need to delete the cookies from whichever browser you usually use. In your case, presumably firefox. In most people's cases, Internet Explorer. The reason it works in a second browser is because they don't share cookies. As far as IE can tell in your case, you're visiting the site for the first time.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I've got the cookie settings set up exactly as their meant to be, and people are just having transitional problems, but I'll verify it with some experts. Will people stop complaining then?

We're just trying to figure out why it's not working with some people or browsers. We are not complaining about YOU, you know. Have a bit of patience with us.
