Re: Curious login problem
I have just had the login problem . I must have tried at least 30 times to log in in the past half hour. Curiously though, throughout my ordeal, I was listed at the bottom of the page as being on the site. I was constantly being told that I had sucessfully logged in only to then be asked again to log in.
I finally got logged in using the link that AllSinging mentioned as working. Deleting cookies and re-starting the computer had no effect at all.

Re: Curious login problem
another strange thing. When I was unable to log in, peoples posts were listed as so many 'minutes ago' for posts that were less than an hour old. This has now reverted to the usual format now that I have logged in.

How many times do I have to say not to do this - it's what causes the problem!
I changed the default a couple of days ago, but presumably sometime after you joined. If you want the default time setting you can switch to it under Board Preferences in the UCP.bevvy wrote:another strange thing. Re: Curious login problem
How did you finally get here Allsinging? It looks like we were both finally able to get here at about the same time. I thought I finally got on thanks to your link, but maybe there was another reason why wwe could get here at last.

Re: Curious login problem
I told you this afternoon that http://forum.fmuk.org.uk is the correct address.Allsinging wrote:can't see you telling people not to do that in this thread and why is it a problem?
It's a problem because when you log in your browser downloads a cookie to remember your login and keep you that way.
But the cookie is the same whichever url you visit from.
So if you visit www.fmuk.org.uk/forum and log in it'll download the cookie to keep you logged in
But if you then visited http://forum.fmuk.org.uk, it tries to download the cookie but can't because it's already downloaded. That's why you can't stay logged on.
Then shortly afterwards, because the cookie settings are configured for http://forum.fmuk.org.uk, the cookie will stop working for www.fmuk.org.uk/forum and won't let you stay logged in.
By logging into one of the other url's, even if it works at first it'll stop, and you're just repeating the process. I can't help you if you don't follow my advice.
