Ha! Those photos of your mum are great, chelle1973. She is such good fun, was so lovely to meet her.
I still haven't seen any of those group photos and I'm sure there were a billion copies taken. I would be curious to see the looks of horror on The Fox and her sister's faces if anyone wants to PM me!

Great photos, Yogi! Your morning Diane/Steve tour photos shows you all had a lot of fun while Asamaic and I were almost dying in the Parkrun! Especially like the group photo's all beaming faces reflecting what great fun we all had....but you're missing from it Need a really long selfie stick!
Great mementos for everyone, thanks Yogi, Chelle and PXC. (Oh I never saw PXC photos as I stubbornly refuse to install whatsapp!)

I dont blame you, in fact I envy you! Feel so exposed with whatsapp and Facebook/twitter apps etc so I dont use any of it, even on desktops, I seldom use FB/twitter. They do have their virtues, though, particularly in outreach, self promotion, instant group communications, and saying things on your mind that should not have been said out aloud...chelle1973 wrote:What's whatsapp MrG? FYI: Whatsapp is a cross platform texting and multimedia communication app (android and Iphone) that uses internet usage data. Its useful for those that have data heavy tariff plans rather than a text message heavy allowance plan. it takes your mobile phone number as your ID so your friends can already find you on Whatsapp. You can create private groups with it and is useful to send photos to each other. But I personally found it exposing and prone to spamming on my initial use of it couple of years ago. You can install it on your phone, I'm sure. Just know, its uses your data allowance and not text.
Android all the way for me too btw but I also have an iphone for completion

Ok, everyone, sorted out my sharing photos issues! Have sent you a link via pm.
chelle, put simply WhatsApp is same as texting, but it is also really useful to send photos without the costs associated with text message, as WhatApp uses wifi. And for communicating with friends or relatives that are overseas for free, so no costly mobile bills, since it is all done over the wifi, you can even message in a group, or even chat, all using wifi. I have a family group, and when I was in Spain last year for a wedding, I had a wedding group, and this is where I posted messages of where we are meeting up, sharing photos of the wedding etc. It was a great tool to keep in touch, without the costs.
MrG, sorry you feel exposed on twitter/FB. You just need to set your privacy levels and no one can see or communicate with you unless you allow them to, and if you do not post any personal info, then no one will know who you are But I totally understand if you do not want to use it, if you have no use for it. I have many friends that do not use it either.
I found Facebook particularly useful when overseas, when I am meeting friends, as I do not need to know their number and I can call them up using Facebook, as long as we are friends on Facebook, no need for mobile numbers or costly mobile bills, as I am using wifi.
And I do not own an iPhone
