Not long to go now!

The Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is open after its refurbishment so all is good for our meet.

There was however a sign on the gate leading to the Brewhouse Yard - Museum of Nottingham Life (next door to the Trip), saying that it was now closed as part of the Nottingham Castle refurbishment, but the castle is open daily.

I popped up to the castle and the guy on the entrance said that the castle will be open until June so those wishing to visit should be in luck.

Could you please give me an idea what time you are arriving, if you want me to meet you etc?

I’m also available Friday 20/04 if anyone arrives early and wants to do something.

Please feel free to PM me if you need any help locating hotels or anything else.

Hi The Fox
I arrive at 09:27 and would be lovely if you could meet me but I'm perfectly happy mooching around on my own too.
The castle sounds perfect. Do you think before or after the meet up. Loving all your ideas. I have bags of stamina so you can walk my socks off.
What time is the meal booked for?
Really looking forward to it.

Hey The Fox! I'm looking into Nottingham things to see/do now as well and have two questions for you:

I'm keen to go to Wollaton Hall and Deer Park (FYI guys, this is Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises too) and the Natural History Museum. It's over an hour to walk to from the train station, what public transport do you recommend?

Also, aside from the Robin Hood statue are there any other Robin Hood and/or literary locations you recommend?

Thank you!

I am keen to go to Wollaton Hall too. I think it's about half an hour on the bus.

Do you suggest we get a mango card or the easyrider to get reduced fares PAYGO, the Fox, like with our London oystercard, with a daily cap? We are going to be in Nottingham for two nights Fri-Sun.

Thanks!!

I'll meet you at the train station. Are the rest of the Manchester gang on the same train?

I've asked them to reserve the tables from 12

It might be best to do the castle afterwards, if they decide to change things and shut it then you can leg it up to the Arboretum :D

Hi
I’m not familiar with the Mango card as it covers the outer areas of Nottingham.

As you will only be here a short time I think you would be better off getting All Days Ticket through either the Easy Rider Mobile or the Robin Hood Card for Nottingham City Transport, in both cases you only need to travel within Nottingham not the entire network.
With the Easy Rider Mobile you need to download the app. It will cost you £3.80 for 24 hours or there is also a Grouprider ticket that 2 adults can use for £5.00 - after 09:30 every weekday (including school holidays) and all day weekends and on Bank Holidays. With the Robin Hood Card it can be purchased from the machines on the street however you have to p*y £2.00 for the card and then top it up. Full details on the link. The Pink buses 28 and 30 and the Orange buses 35 and 36 all pass by Wollaton Park. Have a look at the options here:- https://www.nctx.co.uk/fares-tickets/on-the-day-fares/
When were you thinking of going?

You could have a look at The Robin Hood Experience this is across from the castle and just up from the Trip.

Thinking logistics now. My train is just before 8pm so would it be better doing Wollaton before or after the meet up? Then do the city centre stuff the other side of the meet up?

Sorry The Fox I am getting carried away with myself as getting excited now.
You have already done a fabulous suggested itinerary for before the meet up which I am going to follow then after the meet up I will have a mooch around the castle (to decide whether to go in) then take the bus up to Wollaton as have quite a few hours after the meet up to go and explore.

I think after the meet would be better
