Thanks so much for your help, The Fox! I had another look into buses and it seems a single trip from the city to Wollotan Hall is £1.50 and since that's the only trip I think I'll make by public transport that day, just p*ying for 2 singles (for the return) on the bus is cheapest and easiest.

In terms of the meet-up, what are the timings for the lunch? I know you mentioned the room is available from 12, just wondering what everyone's plans are so I can see what I can schedule before and after? Thanks!

Which bus company are you using to get the fare at £1.50 and where do you pick the bus up from as this might help others who want to go to Wollaton Hall?
I've asked the Trip to reserve the tables 12.00 - 15.00 based on previous years and they said it doesn’t matter how long we stay.

Here's another thought for anyone arriving in Nottingham before 9.30 on the Saturday morning, now that the use of public transport is in the equation:-

https://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/about ... entre-map/

From the train station – get a bus to Victoria Centre (7 mins) near 66, G8 on the map and then walk 17 mins up Mansfield Road to the Arboretum Park - located on map 22, C3 / D3. So you should arrive close to 10.00 o’clock. I think people spend on average 45 mins there, so I think you should have time to walk around and then allow time to walk down to the Trip 42, K5 (about 20 mins).

Have lunch 12:00 – 13:00 / 13:15ish

Walk – for about 10 mins - from the Trip passed Robin Hood statue / entrance of the castle up Maid Marian Way to Upper Parliament Street which is to the right of the Albert Hall 13, H4 to catch the 30 bus to Wollaton Hall, the bus journey is about 15 mins and then there is a 7 min walk to the hall according to Nottingham City Transport route planner :D , stay there until about 4pm then get the bus back into town and get off at Victoria Centre.

Walk – about 5 - 10 mins - from Victoria Centre to the Lace Market area for - Nottingham Contemporary which closes at 6pm and then Pitcher and Piano which is next door 32 J8. The train Station is within easy access from here.

For those with time then there is St Marys Church 74, J9 around the corner and / or Market Square with the Lions are.

Once again this is only an idea.

I'm interested in Wollaton Hall aswell, but we may do that on the Saturday morning! Our train home is at 6.30pm leaving from Newark North Gate, so have to take into account getting there from Nottingham

Wish we were staying longer :crying:

Chelle1973 can't we work it so that we can all go together? If we get there for just after 2 we would have a good couple of hours to enjoy the place before we need to leave. Just a thought as you and your Mum are good company - also don't forget I owe you both a cake.

Good morning everyone. It's time to get the show on the road now as only 10 days to go whoop whoop :cheer:

What time does everyone arrive at and who is interested in doing a spot of sightseeing? Just working out a proper plan for the day so that those who want to do a bit of a tour can see as much as possible in the day but without it being a military expedition  I know that a few of you have already been to Nottingham and other's may want to do their own thing.

Please can you let us know if you are in for a tour or opting out? ;) . It takes a lot to offend me so just say it as it is so we can get planning.

Looking forward to hearing back from everyone :D o/
