Just about to book here for lunch. Seems a good selection of meals including Scottish ones which will be lovely to embrace the whole Glasweigan culture.

Hope that this good for everyone. They take bookings, it fits in with the itinerary that Asamaic has planned (I may need to fine tune (interfering busy body that I am) the timings plus the reviews are fabulous.
Thanks Diane, looks great!

It's a worry biggins, but not stopping me from every day things. I would say b*y a mask but we've run out haha....just put yer big jacket oan....is the meme that's going around on facebook lol

Not stopping me going out either.
We are booked in the restaurant bit downstairs as quieter and can be all seated together so can have a good chin wag 😁

I just logged on to check how everyone else was feeling - I think unless there is a lock down on travel, I'm going to proceed as planned, but b*y a new ticket back to London. I was supposed to stop off via my parents, but I don't think it's worth the risk to my dad. Given there's engineering works that weekend, it looks like I'm going to have to get the Coach of Doom back, rather than a different train!

No lock down for us, it's business as usual, although everyone is worried.

Thanks for making that booking, Diane65. Looks really good and looking forward to our trip.

Thanks Beate for your vote of confidence! 🤪

There is no advice not to travel in the UK at the moment.
Travelling by bus or train
There are currently no travel restrictions in the UK, so how you travel and where you go is something that people are having to decide for themselves. Public transport can be hotspots for the spread of disease as they bring strangers into close contact for extended time periods. “Trains are enclosed spaces, there are a lot of people sneezing and coughing, the London Underground is quite an incubator,” said Rohn
I take the tube to work every day. My company is open as usual, unless I have to self isolate and work from home.

My friend went on holiday in Venice last week, this is what she posted:

We should avoid rumour and speculation.

Check official sites and not heed panic responses and sensationalising from tabloid media, which takes the worst case scenarios.

I have underlying health conditions, I can't afford complacency. There's a difference between fear mongering and informing people of a very serious virus we don't yet have any vaccine for or much knowledge about. If you don't think of yourself because you might only get mildly ill, think of others around you who might get seriously ill if you spread it around. The government's advice is irresponsible.

I shall be keeping away from people for now.

I do not disagree with you, Beate.

Everyone should take care, especially the vulnerable. We should practice good hygiene and wellbeing.

Just keep everything in perspective.

For most people, the coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia.

The vast majority of people recover from the new virus. According to the World Health Organisation, people with mild illness recover in about two weeks, while those with more severe illness may take three to six weeks to recover.
