Not sure if the Glasgow FMUKers are taking the lead showcasing their city. I am more than happy to come up with a sight seeing itinerary but don't want to take over.

Please let us know either way then we can get planning.

Thanks for the prompt Steve9872

Sadly there are not really many regular Fmukers in Glasgow any more due to so few screenings over the past 18 months. I am happy to advise whether things are realistic or possible if Diane65 makes any suggestions. I don't live in Glasgow as I'm in a nearby town, Paisley but have a reasonable knowledge of the city or can ask people for advice.
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

Films already booked for:

Hope to get tickets for: Every film if they come to my preferred cinemas

In the absence of any other suggestions, let me get the ball rolling with a draft itinerary...

7am or some other insane hour - Diane65 starts exploring the city.

8am or some other insane hour - Other people start catching up with Diane65 who has racked up 10,000 steps already pottering around St Andrew's Cathedral, the Southern Necropolis and Glasgow Green because nothing else is open. Glasgow is still asleep.

9am - I go to parkrun by myself because no one else wants to go. :p Other people are still trying to keep up with Diane65.

10am - Whilst I am crossing the finish line and huffing and puffing and wondering why I went to parkrun in the first place, Diane65 finally gets into her first museum as Glasgow wakes up. Possibly the People's Palace in the middle of Glasgow Green.

11.30am - All groups reconvene for brunch in the City Centre. We can either go somewhere fancy or as with all big cities, there's a Spoons, which is cheap and cheerful. A fiendishly difficult quiz is revealed.

The Sir John Moore
260–292 Argyle Street, Glasgow, G2 8QW
https://www.jdwetherspoon.com/pubs/all- ... re-glasgow

12.50pm - We wander over to GoMA and join a free guided tour at 1pm. We get all of the culture.

Gallery of Modern Art
Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow G1 3AH
https://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/event/1/ ... ided-tours

2.15pm - We leave GoMA and jump on a train (£2 return) south.

2.30pm - We potter around the Hidden Gardens before they close. Naturally, free entry.

The Hidden Gardens
https://thehiddengardens.org.uk/explore/visit/
Open 12noon to 3.30pm

3.30pm - We get the train back up using the return portion of our tickets.

3.45pm - We potter around the Lighthouse and pxc takes some beautiful pictures of Glasgow from the top of the building. Other people try to take good pictures, but don't manage to get the lighting quite right. Pxc inexplicably bumps into a minor celebrity and befriends them.

The Lighthouse
http://www.thelighthouse.co.uk/
Open 10.30am to 5pm

4.25pm - We head out of the Lighthouse in search of cake, because, cake.

4.30pm - We go for tea and cake or full on afternoon tea depending on how greedy/tired everyone is.

Willow Tea Rooms
https://www.willowtearooms.co.uk/tea-room-menu/
Open 9.30am to 6.30pm

6pm - People start to head off for trains.

Any advance on the above?
Preferred cinemas:
Vue West End, Cineworld Haymarket, Odeon West End, Odeon Leicester Square, Empire Leicester Square, Cineworld O2, Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue and Odeon Panton Street, followed by anywhere in central(ish) London.

Thanks Asamaic - I’m loving it all from the 11:30 mark o/

I love a Spoons the only downside is they may not allow us to reserve a table / area

Our train gets into Glasgow at11:15 and the train back is at 6. I’ll feel like I’ve done a park run at the end of a action pack day. ;)

Looking forward to it, thanks again.
See you next month.

Fair point about needing to book somewhere - might have to rethink! There seems to be no shortage of pubs near GoMA though, and I think somewhere near there would be an ideal first stop. The morning crew will have earned a break, and everyone getting off the trains could do with refuelling and being able to stretch out a bit more.

If we're happy with the vague plan, I'm sure we can always change it slightly once we know how many people are coming. There were 11 votes for 28 March, but I'm not sure if everyone has confirmed and/or how many people are bringing people with them? Maybe we need a roll call, with train times so we can make sure there's a comfortable margin for everyone getting a fixed train back?
Preferred cinemas:
Vue West End, Cineworld Haymarket, Odeon West End, Odeon Leicester Square, Empire Leicester Square, Cineworld O2, Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue and Odeon Panton Street, followed by anywhere in central(ish) London.

@asamaic I love the itinerary! I am happy to go with the flow!

Since my train journey is 5.5 hours from London we will arrive the day before. We will also not be rushing home and decided to make a weekend of it, as the train fares are excessive returning to London at the weekend. It's cheaper to stay another night(!)

I will add the list of attendees and tally on the first post so easier to find. Please check that I have added you, if you are coming. I have taken the names from the chat on here, so hopefully, it's accurate!

It's not long to go and I am very excited!!

I'm all booked now! Arriving on the Friday morning, staying at the same hotel as the Manchester crew, then leaving at 6pm on the Saturday.

(@pxc I'm staying with my family late on the Saturday night for a flying visit, before continuing onto the London on the Sunday evening. It's so much cheaper breaking the journey!)
