FMUKCON - 12th Anniversary

#1 Post by prettyxcool » Thu Jan 23, 2020 4:48 pm

Unfortunately, I seem to have missed this site's 10th Anniversary last year (possibly a tad busy organising my own milestone and my work's too!).

So I was thinking, we could celebrate this site's 12th Anniversary, which is next year.

There has been talk about a cruise previously, so wonder what are people's views of a mini-cruise? Has anyone done these cruises and can advise? Or know of these particular cruise agents? Who are good and who to avoid? Or go direct to the cruise liners?

Here's a couple, I found to think about?

This sounds nice going to Dublin for the day: https://www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/cru ... rpool-2020

If interested, we will need to look for similar ones departing in 2021.

This one below, the date is similar to the dates that we normally get together for the FMUKCON each year:

It's a b*y one get one half price deal. Not sure how long the offer lasts! The link for the T&Cs don't work for me: https://www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/off ... price-plus

Perhaps, if there is a lot of interest can negotiate a discount. I checked their reviews, seems mix though.

I found another company, lots on here but no prices, but they have 5 star reviews

Perhaps people who have done cruises can post some tips?

I have only ever done one, but not a mini cruise, with Tui and it was really cheap, as last minute! However, with a big group, we do need to plan ahead to get the availability.

Let me know your thoughts below and/or vote. Over to you!

Me too. I am not good on ferries if rough but I am guessing as much bigger ship will be fine.

Marella Cruises from TUI are reasonable even with flight included.
Alternative you can pick cruises up from Southampton as foot passengers so there’s no flight costs and no restrictions on luggage as you’re carrying it yourself.
