what's a warning function?

You should know - you were the one who posted about it the other day!
Just read Bevvy's post again...

i have just tried quick reply and it was no quicker than normal.

oh is that the bit when it tells you that someone else has posted a reply before you post your reply? ooo i liked that, can't we have it back on all the threads?

errrm i wasn't joking re the quick reply thingy it really isn't quicker than the normal reply so what's the point of it then?

It displays at the bottom of a topic page and means you don't have to click "Post Reply" to do so...
I think you have a different idea of what "quick" means in this case....

I must say I am not all too fond of the quick reply thing. It is too huge, which means if I want to lock or move a thread I have to scroll down even more, and it doesn't have any functions like bold, underlined or smileys, so you are half-way through a post when you want to add a smiley and you realise "damn, I can't!" And all that just so you don't have to click a reply button which probably takes a millisecond to do?

The bbcodes for formatting text aren't at all hard to remember

And If you want to add a smiley but can't remember the code just click "Preview".
Also probably the main point of the quick reply is you can scroll up and see all the posts above yours. You can do this in the Post Reply screen too, I know, but it's easier that way.
Not having to click "Post Reply" is not the main point of the mod and I never implied that.

Though I had to mod the mod myself to get it working with Aeroblue.

I think 90% of my posts I have at least 1 smilie so this "Quick Reply" function isn't of much use for me...yet (I'm not good at memorising codes and it's longer typing it out than to click on that smilie..though I do usually have my photobucket on another tab to C+P the codes for my special smilies ). I will try to make use of this new function because I can imagine it being really handy + "Quick"

Bubblez, like AYBG said earlier - if you preview your 'quick reply' before posting, the options to add smilies & alter text come up then. (I usually preview 1st anyway!) I find it handy!
