Get your free ticket and be part
of the conversation between Daniel Barenboim and Jon Snow
on Saturday 21 April 2012 at 11am.

Coming together for a public debate at SOAS University's Middle East Institute, they discuss the role of arts and culture in a political and international current affairs context and will focus on the situation and recent developments in the Middle East.

Apply for your free ticket now at http://beethoven-for-all.com/london/

Drawing people of all ages and background towards music has been at the heart of Barenboim's beliefs throughout his career. When founding the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra with the late Edward Said, the aim was to promote mutual understanding and communication by bringing together young musicians from Israel, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Tunisia.

"Engaging with music and the arts is one of the most important things we have in life. Performing a piece of music and listening to it with an open mind can tell us many things about the world and ourselves. If people can reach mutual understanding and even harmony over a work of art in this world of conflict and despair, this gives me hope and encouragement that we reach with the arts where we can't get with words and politics alone."
- Daniel Barenboim

The debate will be recorded, live-streamed and also
available to watch afterwards online here.

Celebrating 10 years since the unique young Orchestra found its permanent home in Seville, this year Barenboim releases his full Beethoven Symphony Cycle "Beethoven for All".

The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra is touring the world with their shared vision of peaceful co-existence in the Middle East. In the same spirit Barenboim has founded music kindergartens in Ramallah and Berlin in 2004 and 2005. Through the Barenboim-Said Foundation, based in Seville, he has inspired the creation of an Early Childhood Music Education Project, a Music Education Project in the Middle East and an Academy of Orchestral Studies in Seville.

CITIZEN KHAN - Ticket Application

BBC One presents a modern family sitcom set for the first time in a Pakistani Muslim household in Sparkhill, Birmingham.
Citizen Khan following the trials and tribulations of self-appointed Muslim community leader Mr Khan (Adil Ray) and his long-suffering family, including his house-proud and much put-upon wife Mrs Khan (Shobu Kapoor)(EastEnders). Mr Khan loves and loathes affable Mosque manager Dave Goody (Kris Marshall)(My Family) in equal measure. Maya Sondhi and Bhavna Limbachia play his feisty daughters Shazia and Alia and Abdullah Afzal (Lunch Monkeys) portrays Amjad, Shazia's handsome but dim fiancée.

Mr Khan is a larger than life character, with strong opinions and big dreams facing the challenges of many families - how to make ends meet, keep his family happy and impress the neighbours! Things would be so much easier if everyone just listened to him and followed his lead, but his family and friends usually have other ideas.

Created by Adil Ray, Mr Khan has already featured in BBC Two comedy series Bellamy's People and on Radio Four's Down the Line. Mr Khan also hosted his own web series for the BBC Comedy website, in which he covered a variety of topics including the General Election, cricket and even delivered his own Christmas message to the nation.

Sky Rewards June 30th BBC Studios

See Don’t Sit In The Front Row live - Jack Dee

Jack Dee is back with a panel of master comic improvisers for his new show on Sky Atlantic HD. We’re giving away tickets for you to watch the hilarity unfold as part of the studio audience, just remember - Don’t Sit In The Front Row.

Watching comedy live on stage usually means avoiding the front row seats, where you’re likely to be picked on, at all costs. But Sky Atlantic's brand new show Don’t Sit In The Front Row is different.

Members of the the front row will volunteer to be on the receiving end of the comedy panel's jokes, jibes and hilarious observations with this fresh new show format that has no teams, no quiz and features a winner plucked straight from the studio audience.

As a Sky TV customer, you can get two free tickets to be in the audience behind the Front Rowers between 20 June and 10 July at BBC Television Centre.

Tickets must be booked by 12pm on the day of the filming.

Have a laugh with John Bishop

Nothing beats a good joke, whether it's told to us by our mates down the pub, sent to us by text or just something funny we heard while having our hair done.

So Liverpool's finest funnyman and A League of Their Own stalwart John Bishop is back on Sky 1 HD with his brand new show, John Bishop’s Only Joking.

It’s a ten part series that deals with jokes, the whole jokes and nothing but the jokes, as told by both celebrities and people from all walks of life. It’s topped off by big name guest comics, who join John in the studio to perform their stand up routines.

And as a Sky TV customer, you could get two free tickets to be in the live studio audience to catch every punchline before everyone else. Recordings take place between 2 and 6 September at the MediaCityUK studios in Manchester.

Terms and Conditions

Tickets must be booked by 12pm on the day of the filming.
